NOVEMBER 7, 1968 OWL'S HOOT - cont'd from page 16 As shown in the photo at the bottom of page 16, Mr. C. Sparkes and Greg Morill present Proficiency trophy and award to Michael Spadoni. The Principal's Trophy was presented to Doug Stefurak, who was not present at the Commencement. The trophy was donated by former Principal, Mr. E.E. Forgues. The George Brown, Award, donated by the Ontario Department of Education was presented to Patrick Spadoni who obtained the highest marks in Grade 13 History. Next on the program, the choir sang two lovely se-ections, directed and accompanied by Miss A.S. Chisholm, as shown in the photo below. Mrs. M. MeGrath presented the Secondary School Graduation | Diplomas to the following students who successfully completed , the first four years of a Five Year Arts and Science Programs Philip Birch, Lenore Campbell, Terry Condie, Nola Fummerton, Helen Harness, Susan Harrison, Brian Hewson, Ryan LeBlanc, Yvonne Huard, Carol Lapenski, Karen Lidkea, Lan MacDonald, Catherine McGrath, Norma McLellan, Judith McParland, Roberta Milani, Barry Miller, Betty Morris, Fred Nicol, Ian O'Neil, Iynda Sisson, Cora Spadoni, Cosimo Speziale, Doug stefurak, William Turner, Judy Walker. Mr. L.R. Figliomeni to Betty McGuire # Queens University 125th Anniversary Scholarship won iy Betty McGuire Miss Betty McGuire gave a very encouraging Valedictory Address to all present and we all congratulate her on her great achievements. Choir members are as follows: Janice Cluett, Arlene Connelly, Marylyn Cook, Nola Fummerton, Carolyn Glad, Susan Harrison, Brenda Krystie, Marta Krystia, Sheila McParland, * Noreen Needham, Sandra Ross, Sharon Smith, Rosemary Spezial Cathy Stokes, Shirley Winters. Everyone present enthusiastically joined in the singing of our School Song which was followed by God Save the Queen and the Recessional. A Buffet Lunch by the Home and School Association was served and a dance, with msic by the Manchester Riddle, to which everyone was welcome, were enjoyed by all. Our Commencement for the year 1968 was very successful in every way and we would like to congratulated, once again all the graduates who will remember it in their heats for many years to come. MeCuaig FIELD TRIP FOR 12B On October 29, Mr. Duke and the grade 12 Business and Commerce students tour- ed the Kimberly-Clark Mij1 in Terrace Bay. This field trip proved to be' very in- teresting and highly info: ative since none of the students had ever experienc -ed a complete tour of the mill and accounting opera- tions. The class was met by Mr. A. Pattison and divided in- to two groups. Mrs. Ke Weppler, head stenographer, demonstrated the teletype unit, the electric photo- copier and the blueprint machines, various electrics 'and mammal typewriters were shown and the function of each explained. Mr. C. Dodge, paymaster, outlined payroll deductions proce- -- dure, payroll accounting . ; and summarization on the | 4 NCR 300 unit. Mr. J. Heen- REV. E.C. PRINSELAAR es for purchasing, invoic- ing and I.B.M. time card operation. The students thoroughly enjoyed this tour and these gentlemen are to be congrat ulated for their gemiine interest in the education of the Schreiber and Terrac Bay students...
