Burnside, Irving Bailey, Jeanne McCuaig, Mr. and Mrs. K.T. McCuaig of Heron Bay, Mrs. A. Jaffary of Toronto, Mr. and Mrs. F. McCuaig of Capreol; all relatives and John Miller of Port Arthur, W.R. Black, Dick Johnson, Henry McChris- tie, Jack Whent of Fort William, Mrs. S. Pomer of Winnipeg, and many friends from the immediate district .. Mr. McCuaig was confined to hospital with shock and unable to attend. Also attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. A. Huard of Mattawa, Ontario. SWIMMING CLASSES WERE A SUCCESS One hundred and fifty children registered in the. Schreiber swimming and water safety classes held at White Sand Lake this past summer. Included in thes were 120 beginners, 26 juniors, 2 intermediates and 2 seniors attending the regular 25 classes. Qualifie Red Cross Instructors were Gordon Moorey and Mrs. Connie Bryson. Assistants were Donna Keating, Susan Bromley, Susan Harrison, Beverly Hamilton and Janice Cluet. From the registration fees, a new raft and all new swimming and water safety equipment was purchased. Beginners testing was done by Mrs. Bryson and Mr. Moorey while higher levels were tested by Mr. Willie Mueller of Red Rock. The organization would like to thank the many adults who took part in the lessons and especially the volunteer car drivers, without whose help the 'programme would not have been conducted. They also want to express their satisfaction with the efforts of the children involved in the program. DOUBLE RING CEREMONY PERFORMED IN HOLY ANGELS CHURCH Pink glads adorned Holy Angels' Roman Catholic Church in Schreiber on September 14th for the marriage of Catherine Mary O'Brien, deughter of Mr, and Mrs. Leonard O'Srien and Joseph Norman Lemieux, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lemieux of Schreiber. Rev. Dean J.M. Cano officiated for the double ring cere- mony. Miss Brenda Lalonde wes the organist and Giovanni Cebrario the soloist. Burton Phillips was best man and Pat- rick O'frien and Neil Bottomley the ushers. TERRACE BAY NEWS : SEPTEMBER 26, 1968 "The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose a floor length gown of silk faille over sate peau fashioned in a sheath design. The fitted bodice, mandarin collar and ¢1- bow length sleeves were appliqued with cut Venice lace and encrusted with seed pearls. The same applique was used on the full flowing train which formed at the shoulders and cas caded to the floor. <A fout tier scalloped graduated tulle illusion veil was caught to a cluster of petals and seed pearls and she carried a cascade of pink roses. Miss Judy Jones, the bridesmaid, was gowned in turquoise chiffon over taffeta, floor length, in the A-line empire mode, with a full length, short sleeved coat. Her fly-away veil in matching blue was held by a floral cluster and her bouquet of white mums. The wedding dinner was given in the Guild Hall when the toast to the bride was given by her godfather, Theodore Ryan of Port Arthur. At the reception in the town hall, Mrs. 0* Brien received in petel pink corde ensemble, the dress in a shift line with full length coat. She wore matching jewell- ery and a monaco blue velvet flower hat, matching shoes and gloves. The groom's mother chose a shocking pink crimpline three piece suit, with black nylon tulle turban and black accessories. Both ladies had white carnation corseges. Following the reception a buffet supper was served in the home of the bride's parents. For their motor trip to the States, the bride changed to a soft wool suit in gold with matching fur cuffs, dark brown accessories and corsege of gold mums. They will make their home in Schreiber. Among those from out of town attending the wedding were Mrs, Beatrice Jones, Miss Judy Jones, Mr. and Mrs. De Mc- Guire, Mr. and Mrs. C. Gleason of Pembroke; Mr. and Mrs. D. McDonald, of Markstay; Miss Madeline O'Brien of Mattawa; Mr. and Mrs. C. McBride of White River; Mr. and Mrs. L. McBride Terrace Bay; Mr. and Mrs. T. Ryan of Port Arthur. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Clemens of Schreiber announ ce the engagement of their eldest daughter, Janet Eva, to Ronald William Hamilton, son of Mr. and Mrs. D.Q. Hamilton of Schreiber. The wedding will take place at 4 o'clock on October 12th in St. Andrew's United Church. Mr. and Mrs. W. Clemens are holding an open reception in the town hall on Saturday, October 12 from 8 to 11.30 in honor of the marriage of their daughter Janet on that day, ONTARIO PROVINCIAL POLICE REPORT During the past week the Schreiber Detachment investigated 2 motor vehicle accidents, resulting in approximately $2500 damage with injuries sustained to one subject. Miles of Highways patrolled: 2,996 Working hours: 184. Three persons were charged under Highway Traffic Act; 25 persons were warned and 44 vehicles given safety checks.
