Due to the fact that the town council required the school facilities for the re- ception of the members of parliament, classes ceased at 1.15 p.m. However, the educational process did not. On the contrary students became involved in various worthwhile activities. A group of students accompanied by Messers Guerard, Penner and Yung- blut studied diversified aspects of nature while walk- ing to and from Lake Superior. At the same time other students were singing folk songs in the basement of the Schreiber Town Hall. As the special train carrying our provincial leaders and parliamentarians "chugged" into town, several students were there to greet them. Below, students are awaiting the train which carries Premier Robarts and Cabinet Members . "THE OWL'S HOOT" Those who took part in the science field trip were as follows: Front row (left to right) Deborah Reid, Katie Kastelik, Lynda Fontaine, Marilyn Hawke, Susan Hawke, Mary Speziale, Ruth Fadden, Linda Keating, Cathy Bottomley; Back Row - Roberta Parent, Sheila McParland, Trudy Wiznuk, Doris Lehto, Mr. Penner, Karen Glad, Clover Dukes, Mr. Guerard, Kathy and Karen Guina, Mr. Yungblut, Maureen Campbell, Linda Birch, Janice Wiznuk and Debbie Cook.- Along the way, students observed many wonders of nature. The trip was also a means of getting to know their teachers in a more informal manner. With these two purposes in mind, the excursion proved very profitable and enjoyable for all. TERRACE BAY NEWS September 13th was a lucky day for students EPTEMBER 12, 1968 Some 120 students of Schreiber High School took part in a Hootenany held in the basement of the Town Hall. Playing guitars were Ted Petrus, Ryan LeBlanc and Bruce, accompanied by Mr. Gouthro on the harmonica, with Nola Fummerton and Bruce Grey leading in the singing of many Folk Songs. One of the highlights of the afternoon was the sing ing of "Yellow Bird" by Terry McParland, while accompanying himself on the bongos, Michael Glad Eric Handel and Greg Morill. The students ended the Hootenany with the singing of the School Song in which everyone participated with great enthusiasm .
