SEPTEMBER 19, 1968 Esther Niemi Weds John Riley - cont'd from page 13 of pink carnations. The tea was poured by Mrs. T. Whitton (cousin of the groom) and Mrs. M. McCouan; Mrs. R. Remil- lard (cousin of the bride) and Mrs. J.W. Parent. The wedding cake, served by Charlotte Ross, cousin of the bride, was made and given as a wedd- ing gift by Mrs. Jack Corbett, aunt of the groom. Mrs. O. Laine, aunt of the bride, was dining room hostess and servitors. were Mrs. G. Riley, Mrs. R. Hewson, Mrs. 1. Johnson, Mrs. F. MacDonald, Mrs. L. Hiller, Miss Helen Williamson and Miss Heather Tremblay. The gift table was in the charge of Miss Melanie Ross and Babby Anne Parent and the guest book attended by Judy Parent and Marilyn Parent. The bride and groom are spending a honeymoon in eastern Ontario. Mrs. Riley travelled in a rust and beinge ensemble with beige accessories and a corsage of yellow roses. Attending the wedding from out of town were the following: Mr. and Mrs. H.K. Riley, Mr. and Mrs. B. Parent of White River; Mr. and Mrs. G. Riley and family of Ottawa; Mr. and Mrs. C. Riley of Port Arthur; Mr. and Mrs. E. Krause of Fort William Mr. and Mrs. O. Laine, Raymond Niemi and Miss Bertha Gravelle of Windsor; Mr. and Mrs. R. Remil- lard and family of Sault Ste. Marie; Miss Charlotte Ross of Fort William; and many friends from Pembrokd Toronto, Kenora, Fort William, Port Arthur, Nipi- gon, White River and Terrace Bay. Prior to their marriage, the bride was entertained at a shower tea in Schreiber, at a dinner party in Terrace Bay given by the Kimberly-Clark office staff} where she has been employed, at a rehearsal party in the home of Mr. and Mrs. N. Ross; and the groo at a stag party in White River. : & -photo TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 1] STUDIES YOUTH PROBLEMS--Kaz Miyata of Fort William spent a month in Schreiber and Terrace Bay, working through the Youth Recre * ation Branch, Department of Education, studying the basic problems and needs of youth in this area. He was successful in setting up youth clubs im both towns, their purpose. to lead youth in right direct- ion in life. He will present his report for evalu- ation at the meeting attended by others making the same study in Fort Frances, Atikokan, Kenora and Keewatin this summer. WEEKLY REPORF FROM THE SCHREIBER DETACHMENT ONTARIO PROVINCIAL POLICE During the past week, the Schreiber Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police investigated 5 motor vehicle accidents, which resulted in approximately $785 .00 in property damage. From September 8 to 14th, members of this Detach- ment patrolled 3,391 miles of highways and logged 184 working hours . There were 5 persons charged under the Highway Traffic Act; 15 persons were warned and 42 vehicles were given safety checks. Six persons were charged under the Liquor Control Act. : One theft of gasoline was reported, this case is still under investigation. One automobile was report ed as stolen and later located by the owner. One Missing Girl from Toronto was located and returned | to her home. One Alleged Kidnapping, which later led to the arrest of two subjects who were charged with Break, Enter and Theft under the Criminal Code, as well as two other Criminal Code Charges. M.
