Forty-four of these students reg- istered in the Four Year Business and Commerce and One hun- dredand seventy-five enrolled in the Five Year Arts and Science. The youth of Schreiber heye broader opportunities in ed- ucation this fall than in previous years. Not only are the above mentioned programs offered to them but not they may enterrthe Four Year Science Technology and Trades course or the Two Year Occupational course at Terrace Bay. Several of the students of the Schreiber aree are taking advantege of the opportunities inherent in the latter two. SUMMER SCHOOL 1968 The majority of the 1968-69 faculty at Schreiber High School spent the summer months studying at various education- al centres throughout Ontario. They have returned to school with new ideas in teaching methods and with more knowledge in certain subject areas. As the year progresses, our stu- dents will benefit from their teachers' efforts during the summer. The following studied teaching methods at the Ontario College of Education Toronto: Miss Goodhead, Mr. Dukes and Mr. Gouthro. Messers. Chyril, Deol, Gordon, Penner and Yungblut studied teaching methods at the McArthur College of Education in Kingston. Miss Chisholm completed a commercial course in Toronto while Miss Wray studied teaching methods of commercial subjects in Ottawa. Mrs. Guerard completed a Guidance course in Sudbury and Mr. Guerard was successful in a@ physics course at the University of Ottawa. Mr. Tessier studied French and Francais at Laurentian University. Mr. Stewart spent six weeks of the summer teaching at the Mc- Arthur College of Education in Toronto. SCHREIBER JUNIOR HOCKEY CLUB EXECUTIVE HOLDS .MEETING The September meeting of the Schreiber Northstar Junior Hockey Club Executive was held on September 3rd at 7 p.m. with President F. Eickmeir presiding. The minutes of the previous meeting were read by ncaseeiaed L. Hiller and adopted as read. Treasurer L. Small presented a financial statement to J. Friesen to be checked. Under general business, President Eickmeir reported on the annual meeting held in July in Port Arthur. Delegates to the semi-annual meeting were appointed as follows: F. Eickmeir, J. Bromley, and N. Boon. It was suggested by J. - Bromley that this seasons schedule be arranged such that overnight trips to Geraldton could be prevented by changing games from Saturday night and Sunday to Fridey night in one centre and the following Sunday in the other. This would eliminate competition with the Televised hockey game and create a greater interest among the fans.
