nae TERRACE BAY NE WS SOHMREIBER Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Kusik spent their vacation in Vancouver. Mrs. Elsie Jewell is in the Port Arthur General Hospital . Miss Lois LeBlanc is in McKellar Hospital . Karen Lidkea leaves this week to enroll in the Algonquin College, Ottawa. Her sister, Mrs. B. Harper will accompany her, and for a week they will visit relatives in Montreal and Ottawa. Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Slater recently were the former's cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Mosley of Port Hope, and Mr. and Mrs. Des. Wolfe of Pembroke. Among the boys attending hockey schools in Toronto this season were Bob, Bill and Bruce Miller Bob and Bill Smilsky, Peter Armstrong, and Bob and Paddy McKenna. While his sons were attending the hockey school, Mike Smilsky visited his sister in Hamilton. Mrs. Elizabeth Foreman of Fort William spent last week with her son Chuck while his wife visited her parents in Ottawa. Miss Jean Shaw was the guest of Mrs. A. Moorey last week. Miss Sandra Shaw visited her aunt, Mrs Innes West. Both are from Fort William. Mr. and Mrs. Gerry Lidkea and family of Fort William have been holidaying in the Bruce Lidkea camp at Walker Lake. Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Bryson in town and at Slate Island with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bryson, are Mrs. Mead Smith and daughter Susan; Mrs. Rodney Bryson's mother and sister from Darts- mouth, N.S. Mrs. Gladys Nolan and Mrs. Sherry Lane of London, Ontario are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. Campbell, visiting others in the Campbell families . Reeve Harness, Mrs. Harness and Helen spent their vacation touring various places in southern Ontario and western Canada. His many former students and old friends in Schreiber were sorry to hear of the death of Frank Purdy, former high school principal here. Mr. and Mrs. G. Moore will be At Home at Walker Lake on September 2nd from 3 - 5, the occasion being their 60th Wedding Anniversary . Mr. and Mrs. Godfrey Birch are holding an open reception in the Town Hall on August 31st, from 7 to 9 in honor of the marriage of their daughter Marlene to Robert Dott on that day. AUGUST 29, 1968 Mrs. G. Legault and son David of Montreal are visiting Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Bryson and Mr. and Mrs . Jack Bryson. / Mr. and Mrs. Laurie Furlonger with Craig, Caren and Billy of Ottawa are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Bill Furlonger and Mr. and Mrs. Del. Weberg. Ralph and Jim McCuaig of Toronto are visiting their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lester McCuaig. Mr. and Mrs. D.Q. Hamilton and daughters are spending their vacation in Orillia and Renfrew with relations . Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Walker and daughters spent their vacation with relations in Sault Ste. Marie and Thessalon. Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Bentham of Swift Current, Sask. are visiting with Mr. and Mrs. W.T. Wallace. Mr. and Mrs. Roger Mitts, with Steven and Marc, of North Burnaby, B.C. are at Walker Lake with Mrs. Mitt's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Doig. Miss Frances McKenna, whose marriage to Lorne Wilson takes place on August 31st, was honored by her friends at a shower tea arranged in the United Church hall on August 21st. Receiving with her were her mother, Mrs. Frank McKenna, her fiances' mother, Mrs. D.L. Wilson, and her cousin, Ann Boon of Fort William. The tea was poured by Mrs. W.E. Wilson and Mrs. Frank Boon, Mrs. Jack Cor- bett and Mrs. J.D. Bryson. The servitors were the Misses Helen Williamson, Monica Frommann, Lola Scott, Janet Richardson, Billie Weaver, Marilyn Searles, Debby Lidkea and Pat Kelly from Toronto. Also serving were the Mesdames Gary Drake, Della Moore and H.W. Gellert and replenishing also. The gifts were opened by Miss Irene Spice and Karen Kushnieryk and the guest book circulated by Della Moore (Marathon) and Betty Ann McKenna. Mrs. W.G. Furlonger was dining room hostess . Miss Esther Niemi was honored by her friends at a shower tea arranged in the United Church on Fri- day, August 23rd. Receiving with her were her mother, Mrs. Oscar Niemi, her fiancee's mother, Mrs. Herbert Riley of White River, and her sister Mrs. Neil Ross. The tea was poured by Mrs. Jack. Corbett and Mrs. Manuel McCouan, Mrs. Tom Whitton and Mrs. J.W. Parent. Servitors were the Mesdames Bill Collinson, Frank McKenna, Ken Williamson, Leonard Hiller, Wesley Miller and Tom ; Whent.
