Mrs. Shirley Makela was recently entertained at' a surprise farewell party at the home of Mrs. Ann Packalen. Cocktails were served and Shirley was presented with a pink Carnation corsage and a vase with golden roses on it, from all her lady friends. Later, Shirley was taken out for dinner and cock- tails. The group then wished her and her husband much happiness in their new home in Sudbury. Before leaving Terrace Bay to take up residence in Rexdale, Sheelah Colhoun was entertained at the home of Mrs. Charlie Wise. Ten of Sheelah's good friends got together and gave her surprise card party The Hostess made a corsage of yellow and bronze flowers and presented it to Sheelah on her arrival . Phillips and daughter Kathy are Mr. Lawrence Mallais and Mr. Jonathan Vaughan, both of Oakville. They will be here for the week, taking in the many tourist attractions of the district. On Thursday, August 15th, Miss Esther Niemi, bride-elect of August 30th, was entertained at a supper held at the Superior Dining Room, Schreiber, by the girls of Kimberly-Clark.
