SCHREIBER Mr. Pat Newton has returned from Winnipeg whege he attended the wedding of his Grand-nephew George Arthur Newton Junior to Miss Beverly Ann Horton, both of Winnipeg on August 3rd, 1968. The wedding was held in St. Annes Anglican Church and followed by a reception in the Lincol n Motor Hotel . While in Winnipeg, a re-union was held for Pat and his brother George Arthur Newton Senior, of Medi- cine Hat, Alberta - it having been twenty-two years since they had been together. Included in the party were Arthur Newton and wife Betty, son and daughte in-law of George; George Junior, Stanley, Gregory and Guy, sons of Arthur and Betty; Miss Beverly Horton, bride-elect of August 3rd, Miss Jill Hanson, Mrs . Tony Magnifico, all of Winnipeg and Mrs. R. Winters of Schreiber, Ontario. Jim Bryson, RCN, Halifax, is home visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bryson. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hawke and daughters are spend- ing their vacation in Winnipeg. Mrs. Robert Winters returned from visiting in Pet- ersfield, Manitoba with Mr. and Mrs. Mike Pawluk and in Winnipeg with Mr. and Mrs. A. Magnifico. On her return, she had as her guests, Mr. and Mrs. -B. Hannam of Carlton Place, Freddie Hannam, Sheila McEwen and Barbara Shipman of Ottawa. Doris Lehto is visiting her sister in Prince George, BA. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Cote of Espanola are visiting friends and relatives here and in Terrace Bay. Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Small are their son Ray and niece Darlene Waters, both of Toronto. Mario Figliomeni, Ted Speziale and Shane Walsh attended the hockey school in Toronto recently. John St. Jean and sons Larry, Leon and Butch visi ted the Ambrose McDonald family in Levack for part of their vacation. Fit, Serg. Herb Goss, R.C.A.F., North Bay, who was here visiting relatives, suddently took ill and is being treated in the Port Arthur General Hospital . Mrs. Austin Cosgrove is in St. Joseph's Hospital Port Arthur. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Downey, with daughters Erin Denise, Lorraine of White River are visiting Mrs. Hilary O" Brien. Mrs. O'Brien's mother, Mrs. J.D. McCoshen has just returned to Fort William after a vacation here. Mrs. Michael Smilsky and Mrs. Nz Pelto are holidaying in Vancouver. TERRACE BAY NEWS AUGUST 22, 1968 Mrs. E.M. Cameron of Strathroy, Ontario, and Miss Laura Summerley of Sault Ste. Marie, have re- turned from visiting Mrs. Ethel Smitheman. Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Firman are the latter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. Middler with Linda Susan and John, of Ottawa. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Doherty of Guelph are at Walker Lake with Mr. and Mrs. Mark Doig. Roy Davis has returned to Toronto after visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Davis. Jack Noonan was taken by ambulance to the Port Arthur General Hospital . There will be a come=-and-go tea on August 23rd in the United Church hall from 8 to 10 p.m. in honor of Miss Esther Niemi, bride-elect of this month. Mrs. Oscar Niemi will hold a reception on August 30th from 8.30 to 10.30 in the town hall in honor of her daughter, Esther, whose marriage to Ted Riley takes place that evening in the United Church. There will be a shower-tea on Wednesday, August 21st, from 8 to 10 p.m. in the United Church hall in honor of Miss Frances McKenna, bride-elect of this month. There will be a Come-and-Go Tea in the Anglican 'Church basement in Schreiber on Tuesday, August 27th from 8 to 10 p.m., in honor of Miss Sheila Weaver, bride-elect of September 7th. Everybody is welcome. Mr. and Mrs. D. Bobka visited with Mr. and Mrs. B. Harper last week. The latter then returned to Hurst with them for the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. F. Auger of Fort William spent the weekend with the latter's brothers, Mr. and Mrs. J. Richardson and Mr. and Mrs. W. Richardson, and visiting also many old friends. Miss Diane Rummery of Fort Frances is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Rummery. Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. R. Macadam was their daughter, Sharon with her husband, Mr. and Mrs. A.R. Dejeet, of Breslau, Ontario; and Mrs. Mac- adam's mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Dockray of Port Coquitlam. Mrs. A. Shaw and Miss Sandra Shaw of Fort Will- iam spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. 1. West. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Macadam and daughter Darlene of Winnipeg, have been visiting Gordon's parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. Macadam.
