AGUASABON GOLF NEWS The June 25th Ladies Day winners were as follows Low Gross - Liz Burns; Low Net - O. Adamo; Low Hole - Julie Rattray; and High Hole - M. Bray The July 2nd winners were as follows: Low Net - Julie Rattray; Low Gross - E. Campbell; High Hole- M. Hanley and Low Hole - P. Kelty. On Saturday, July 6th, a new type of contest was held, with unknown partners teamed up. It was thoroughly enjoyed by all the ladies who participat- ed. Resul.ts were as follows: Low Gross - |. Ferrier and E. Campbell; Low Net - P. Moon and P. Kelty; Consolation - Jan Hall and D. Broadhurst. On Thursday, July 11th, there will be another two ball foursome. This time it will be unknown partners, so put your name down, as it should prove to be a lot of fun for everyone involved. NOTE: Be sure to mark Sunday, July 28th on your calendar. This is the date set for the Ladies Invitational Open. The entry fee if $5.00. Watch for more information concerning the Open in other NEWS issues. We are sorry to hear that Ivy Pattison is in the hospital. We hope to see her on the golf course again, soon. Men's Match Play - The Draw has now been posted on the Bulletin Board. As-all members with a handi cap have automatically been entered, you should refer to it now to arrange your match. NOTE TO ALL MEMBERS: MEN, LADIES, INTERMEDIATES AND JUNIORS Golf Balls are reported being pilfered from mem- bers golfbags in the Storage Shack. Members are urgently requested not to purchase golf balls from any other source than the club house. If attempts are made to sell your balls it would be appreciated if you would report the instance to the club house . | Pilferers, if caught in the act, will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. NOTE TO JUNIORS: - Father Harris has started his free instructional group lessons and there are a few disappointingly few number of Juniors taking advantage of them. It is a shame that this wonder- ful opportunity is not being utilized. Don't let a little poor weather keep you away, this is an op- portunity afforded to few Junior golfers in Canada. My Scotland Tour, on July 8th, to visit relatives in Edinborough and other points in Scotland. Visiting with Mr, and Mrs. R. Bryson recently, have been the latter's father, M.K. Smith, and | Mr. and Mrs. M.L. Stevens and Catherine, all of Dartsmouth, N.S. Mr. and Mrs. J. Nickels, with Carrie and Greg of Corruna, Ontario are with them Mr. and Mrs. W. Tracy and Mr. and Mrs. B. Traer and families have returned to Sarnia after visiting Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Johnson. Mrs. John Spikula, with Dawn and Steven, are visiting relations in Toronto. Among the visitors recently with Mr. and Mrs. M. Ryan, were Miss Mary Ryan of Ottawa, Mr. and Mrs. A. Lee and Judy, of Kingston, Mr. and Mrs. A. Antoniak and Melody of Calgary, Mrs. A. Wilson of Fort William and Miss Jeannine Pineau of Red Rock. Mr.. and Mrs. W. Paradis, Mrs. ©. Pearson, Mrs. W. Wilson and Bernard Paradis have gone to Sudbury to attend the funeral of the late George Noble; Mrs. Nobel being the former Gertrude Paradis. : Mr'. and Mrs. W. Clemens and their three dau- ghters are holidaying with relatives in Owen Sound Wiarton and Toronto. UNVEILING CEREMONIES HELD IN SCHREIBER _On June 29th, two historical plaques were un- veiled at the new park site in Schreiber - one com- memorating Sir Collingwood Schreiber, and the oth er commemorating the Lake Superior Trek. After the ceremony, the one honoring the Lake Superior Trek was taken to its permanent site at the lookout at Selim, west of Schreiber. J.D. Bromley, C.P.R. Supt. of the Schreiber division, was chairman for the event. Others taking part included Reeve F.V. Harness, J.E. Stokes, M.L.A., Thunder Bay Riding, Howard Schreiber of Toronto, grandnephew of Sir Colling- wood Schreiber, The Hon Rene Brunelle, Minister of Lands and Forests; Mr. L.R. McCuaig; Prof. J. C.A. Dawson, Director of Northern Studies, Lake- head University; and Keith Davis, president of the Thunder Bay Historical Society. Mrs. J.
