A letter from the Recreation Committee regarding the recent breaking and entering, requested that in the future, the Director or some member of the Committee be advised immediately. A suggestion to publish a monthly police report was accepted. This will be done. However, concerning information regarding juven- iles, it was pointed out that under the statutes, this information cannot be made available to anyone other than the parties concerned. The Committee was also concerned about the al- leged beating of a Schreiber boy, by Terrace Bay youths. The Committee was advised that no charges had been laid, by the individual, although a com- plete investigation was made. With milder weather approaching, there is more traffic in town. During the month, 16 occurences were investigated. Two young children were lost for two hours, and found. Two dogs were destroyed at the request of the owners. One parking ticket was issued and paid. The case of the dog catcher was investigated, and council is aware of results. Two unoccupied houses were checked. Schreiber Police and O .P.P. were assisted in making a search of all back roads and bushes for Spadoni's safe which was stolen with all contents. MEMBERSHIP TEA HELD BY THE C.W.LEAGUE The St. Martin's Parish Council of the Catholic Women's League held their annual Membership Tea : in the Church Hall on Sunday, May 19th, preceded by the Recitation of the Rosary in the Church. Rev. A.P; Harris opened the meeting with League Prayer. President, Mrs. W. Corrigan chaired the meeting and welcomed all members. An inspiring message on our need for the Virgin Mary was given by Spiritual Convenor Mrs. G. Ramsay. Mrs. leslie |. McBride reported that the Catholic Girls Club will be holding their annual crowning of the Blessed Virgin next Sunday, May 26th at 7.30 p.m. Father Harris offered the use of the lerusalem Bible for scripture readings at the meetings. Mrs. W. Sitko volunteered to take over the sale of rélig- _ ious articles.
