The Schreiber minor hockey banquet was held in the Legion clubroom last week, and attended by the usual crowd of exuberant kids . The meal was pro- vided for by mothers of the players and served by members of the Legion auxiliary. Shown in the photo below, by Inez McCuaig, are some of the men who worked and supported minor hockey in Schreiber in.a variety of ways. They all "come from a wide range of occupations, but all had (and we hope will still have for many hockey seasons to come ) the same goal and determination to achieve and retain the Minor Hockey standards and spirit of eompefition in the kids. Nesbitt - Bruins; T. Armstrong - Blues ; Most improved player - R. Relph - Red Wings; M. Stokes - Bruins and R. Bryson- Blues . In the Bantam - midgets - Most valuable player - R. Hiller - Chevies; T. Winters - Knights; and R. Fummerton - Moose. Most improved player - Pat McKenna, Chevies; J. Parent - Knights; and J. Martin - Moose. Bromley, C.P-R. superintendant, was the guest speaker . Frank McKenna made a presentation to D. Figlio- meni, as coach of the year. Dominic took his team through the western zone finals playing Terrace Bay, Red Rock, Geraldton, and when meeting Manitou- wadge in the North Shore finals, only losing out by one goal in two game series with total goals to count Congratulations to Dominic for doing such a fine job of coaching with-these youngsters who excelled themselves this past season. We hope these boys and all the other teams will do likewise next year. Following the presentations, Bill Hawke showed two films - The 1967 N.H.L. Play-offs, and The Russian Game against Canada's national team in Winnipeg . There are between 110 and 120 boys registered in minor hockey in Schreiber, and around 95 of these attended the banquet, for which Mrs. Jack Winters Legion auxiliary president was the convenor . Reg Bailey, president, was M.C. for the evening. The association is composed of 24 interested people] including coaches, referees and executives. ROSS? ORF REV. CANO PERFORMS WEDDING SERVICES White and yellow Shasta daisies and white cathe- dral tapers adorned the altar of St. Berchman's Roman Catholic Church at Rossport when Carol Anne Hubelit became the bride of Roy Hector Rochon at an eleven o'clock ceremony recently. The marriage ceremony was performed by the Rev. Father Cano, parish priest and celebrant at the nup- tial mass and communion service. The bride is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. . Metro Hubelit and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lucian Rochon of Rossport . Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white formal gown of Lagoda with a scoop neckline an A-line skirt and elbow length sleeves, edged with embroidered lace medallions. The empire waistline had a front panel of medallion lace and a detachable watteau train. The bodice was fastened at the back with matching covered buttons.
