Sunday, June 9th July Ist duly 6th and 7th EERE KRKEEKEKREKKEREKEREAREREAEKREKREREERER SIXTY ATTEND ALL-DAY C.G.1.T.-RALLY We are always talking about firsts in Terrace Bay. The C.G.1.T. had a first on April 27th, with an all-day rally. Leaders and girls came from Beard - more, Marathon and Schreiber. There were sixty in all. The Rally opened at 9.45 with the C.G.1I.T.- purpose and hymn, after which Reverend Husser welcomed everyone and wished them a good day. A group of Guides, accompanied by their Com- missioner, Mrs. Shirley Caron, joined the girls to view a film entitled "Phoebe". Mrs. Slomke was projectionist. After the film, the girls broke up into small groups for discussion, then came back to the main group, with Mrs. Rena MacAdam, School Nurs capably answering the questions brought forth. After a one-hour break, to allow the out-of-town guests to look over the town and enjoy the beauti- ful sunny day, everyone gathered at the Church again for lunch, supplied by the local girls and their Mothers.. An interesting hour followed, when Mrs. Anne Baron talked on figure types, posture, poise and colour, her talk being demonstrated by girls model= ling; some of the clothes modelled were from Robin- son's, others were those the girls had made them- selves. There was also a display of materials with 'suitable patterns, to show what could be made at TERRACE BAY NEWS home. Mrs. Stella Brown talked on skin care, and demonstrated on the art of make-up. The girls thanked both ladies. Another film "A Quarter Mil- lion Teen-agers" was shown, the | Guides returning to see it. There was another free-time break, be- fore the girls met for their Wor- ship service. Everyone enjoyed the supper prepared for them by Mrs. 9, Rafalant, Mrs.T. Olsen and Mrs. |. Kelty. A special thanks to these ladies, also those who donated food and money. The Rally closed with Taps, the visitors expressing the feel- ing that this should become a yearly event. GUEST OF LADIES AUXILIARY The C.G.1.1T. and their Mothers were special guests of the Community Church Ladies' Auxiliary, Terrace Bay, when they met in the Church Hall for a Pot Luck Supper Monday evening. After supper, the girls took charge of the Worship service. A hymn was sung, then Maureen Mikus, -Janet 7wir and leanne Tychoniak read the Scriptures and in- spiring stories. The C.G.I.T. girls will be selling Mothers'Nay car- nations on Friday from door to door. This is a yearly project, and it is hoped there will be a good response The C.G.1.T. will assist with the luncheon being served after the Church ser- vice, on Mother's Day, May 12th. Everyone in the con- gregation is invited to attend.
