CERTIFICATES PRESENTED TO LEADERSHIP GRADS A wind-up Banquet for ten Christopher Leadership graduates and Christopher Instructors was held Friday, May 3 at the Terrace Bay Hotel. Including invited guests twenty five were present. Phil Stuart was Master of Ceremonies for the evening and guest speaker Mr. Fred Soughton gave a very in- teresting talk on the "Art of Understanding and being Understood". Originator of the Christopher movement in Schreiber Mr. Gerry Banning, presented the Christophers with a Leadership Course certificate. The Instructors were thanked for introducing and teaching the leadership course in Schreiber, by Mr. Lawrence Tremblay. Gifts were presented to the Instructors by Janet Kulmatycki . Another course is planned to start early in Septem- ber. Indications are that many more interested people will enroll. Harold MoParland, Lawrence Tremblay, Don Laporte, and Ed Borutcki. Instructor - Sam Chicoine, Fath- In the Missing Instructors FORMER TERRACE BAY BOY A HERO IN BIG LEAGUE HOCKEY The thrill of Ron Shock's winning goal in last Friday' play-off game against Minneapolis in the Western Hockey League affected everyone in Terrace Bay - even those who are not avid hockey fans. The fact that a "home-town" boy was playing was the magnet that kept all glued to their television sets that night - and when he shot the goal that broke the tie in the second period of overtime play in a game in which there was no let-up by either side from start to finish - well, it just "blew the lid". Sundays' game against Montreal was a heartbreaker but again it was a fight - all the way. Our very best wishes go to the "Blues" - an underdog team- we hope they win. We thought we had a brilliant idea Sunday about starting a wire to Ronnie and asking everyone in town to sign it but learned this was done on Saturday - we were missed. If another one is started, let's get all the names - all over the district where Ron pivves continued on
