Anderson, Mrs. J. Wills and Mrs. T. Morrow assisting, andby the staff of Spadoni Motors; both Mr. and Mrs. Lalonde being presented with gifts. . Doran Kragero is in Port Arthur General Hospital after a fall in which he broke his hip. Broken arms were suffered recently by Mrs. Bill Holland and Mrs. Nick Linkwich. ke Re KR RK RK RK RK KK RK KK MORE SPACE NEEDED FOR LIBRARY At the March meeting of the public library board it was reported by librarian Mrs. Andrea Hill that the additional open hours for research only have been much appreciated and well-used. Books in the re- search section must be used on.the premises and not borrowed, since the number is limited. Accounts amounting to $1,270.00 were passed for payment. A computer number, to be used in or- dering books, has been received from the Co-opera- tive Book Centre. A wire bookstand with adjustable 'shelves and capacity for 500 paperbacks, or the equi valent booklets was ordered. A.G. Pepper explained the delay in delivery of readers' cards and the bound copies of Natural Geo- graphic Magazines. Mrs. Hill was given permission to re-arrange shelves, but the need for more space is. urgent, and the board were pleased that municipal council is con sidering ways of supplying this. Mrs. Rita McGrath was appointed by town coun- cil to fill the vacancy on the board. Books were sel ectdd from catalogues and from the travelling displa brought by the Regional Library. oe ee eee, Pe Ie Ie ee Mrs. Bill Weaver is visiting her sister, Mrs. Herb Foss and family in North Bay. Mr. and Mrs. G.A. Scott are in Toronto, where he is attending the Provincial Legislative Board con- vention as representative of the B. of L.E. Maclsaac gave reports at the March meeting of the Catholic Parent- Teachers' Association meeting, on the C.P.T.A. con vention which they had attended in Montreal. TERRACE BAY NEWS APRIL 4, 1968 They agreed with a resolution, that at least one mem ber of local associations would attend meetings of the school board. It was reported that the new record player for the school has arrived. Smoking Sam, the device show=: ing the bad effects of smoking, which is being taken to the various school by the Cancer association, was on display, and a donation made to the Cancer Soc- iety. The school board, D'Arcy McGuire, John Power L.V. Bourke, and Mrs. B. Mullins, answered ques- tions from the floor on their works and aims. The attendance prize was won by Sister Loyola's room. L.R. Tremblay presided for the meeting, and there were 65 present. SR RR ee er ae ae das Pa SR Mi SS Re ue CAPACITY CROWD AT FASHION SHOW The President, Mrs. Beulah Speziale, welcomed a capacity audience attending the Fashion Show spon- sored by Schreiber Kinettes in the high school audi- torium. Mrs. Dianne Figliomeni was commentator, and Mrs. Jackie Turner cashier. The clothes were from Rikki's, Fort William, and were brought down by Mrs. Iris Beyers and Mrs. Lydia McKenzie . The hats, bags, gloves and jewel lery were supplied by the local Chapples' Store. Modelling the clothes, which ran the gamut from Spring on through summer - play togs to frocks for afternoon and evening, were Mesdames C. Duggan, G. Cebrario, G. McParland, G. Currie, H. Gel- lert and the Misses Brenda Lalonde, Lola Scott, Cathie Herlihy, Lenore Campbell and Janice Hamil ton. The hair styling was done by Tony's Salon. The two $10 door prizes were won by Mrs. D. Com- misso and Mrs. J. Crook. Other Kinettes assisting were Mesdames E. Gordo Riley, Fairbarn, Hewson, Searles, Speziale, Godin Fay Figliomeni and Bella LeBlanc.
