Correspondence included a letter from Mrs. Jack Brooks, library chairman, stating one resignation had been received, and asked for a new appointment to fill the vacancy. It was decided to accept in principle, the organiza- tion of the Digtrict Health Unit. The BoysScouts requested permission to hold a Candy Blitz on April 6th. Permission was granted. Ontario Hydro stated that they would supply Book Covers for the schools. The Police report included three minor accidents had been investigated. There were no transient meals sup- plied in the last month. A number of dogs had been destroyed at the owner's request. Fire Chief Vic Thorpe reported that a Fire Drill had taken place. Stan Hodgkiss had lectured on entry and approach. The Navy Cadet Corps were given lectures on fire drill and procedure, and had visited the Fire Hall. Accounts passed for payment were as follows: Township - $55,755.48; Hydro - $8,993.61; Public Library - $326.29; Recreation Committee - $841.35; Mr. R. Sinotte attended a meeting of the Children's Aid Society in the Lakehead. The Thunder Bay District Municipal League Conven- tion will be held at the end of March, with some councillors attending.
