The hostess served luncheon and a social hour was en- joyed. My sports car is so small | have to pay parking tickets in Juvenile Court. DISTRICT COMMITTEE EXPLAINED TO SCHOOL BOARD . The regular meeting of the Rossport School Board was held Sunday evening at the Todesco home with all members present. Providing transportation for high school students was the major issue. Several possibilities were discussed and solution seems eviden this week. Owing to receiving the resignation of the teacher, the board will advertise for a replace- ment for September. It was decided a ratepayers meeting will be called to acquaint them with the new Lake Superior Schoo| Division. Chairman, Mrs. Anne Todesco reported on a meeting held in Terrace" Bay and fermation of an Interim School Organization Committee. It was stated by Regional Superintendent of Education, R.R. Steele that the function of this committee is to prepare a comprehensive report, pro- viding information about the existing school systems that are to be administered by the new board after January Ist, 1969. Public and High Schools in the Lake Superior School System will include Heron Bay, Marathon, Coldwell, Terrace Bay, Schreiber, and Rossport. Members of the Interim Committee are Dennis Brophy of Heron Bay, W.J. Farrell of Terrace Bay, William Furlonger and Lester McCuaig of Sch- reiber, Anne Todesco of Rossport, Lloyd Irwin of Marathon, Mrs. Dorthy McKendry of Coldwell and Mr. B. Stephen of Terrace Bay, with Lester McCuaig as elected chairman. From a report supplied by this committee, the new board elected in 1969 may base initial decisions and long range planning to facilitate the transition of essential services. A discussion was held by the members of Rossport Board regarding possibility of transporting the higher grades to Schrei- ber next fall, leaving the junior grades in the local school .- This was tabled till further information may be obtained. Secretary-treasurer, Mrs. Paulmert presented the financial statement and outstanding accounts were passed for payment. Mrs. Todesco pointed out that full attendance by high school stu- dents in Schreiber from Rossport has not been fullfill- ed. Arecord of attendance will be asked for each month for future reference. Internationally-known circus acts, brought togeth- er by Ringling Brothers - - Barnum and Bailey, will be featured on a Hydro-sponsored, hour-long color T.V. special. It will be seen across Canada on CBC network stations at 9 p.m. EST March 19.
