SUCCESSFUL POPPY DAY TEA HELD On Saturday, November 11, in the Community Church basement, a Poppy Day Tea was held, con- vened by Mrs. A.McKechnie. Tea pourers were Mrs. J. Ferrier and Mrs. J. Thomas, Mrs. R. Middaugh and Mrs. F.Ginn. The lace covered table was centred with an arrangement of poppies and green fern flanked by tall tapers and the Royal Canadian Legion emblem. Servitors were Wrenettes Pam Cumming and Pat Thorpe. Guides - Donna Chapman, Candice Cotton Brownies - Susan Gerley, Caron Brown and Maria Hermes. The door prize was won by Mrs. Y. Vienneau The tea tables were centred with wheat sheaves and poppies in tall vases. COMMUNITY CHURCH CENTENNIAL SUPPER A throng of members and friends gathered in the Sunday School rooms Sunday evening for a Centennial Pot-Luck Supper, convened by Mrs. A. Sinkins, Mrs. M. Lundberg and assisted by Mrs. M.Duriez , Mrs. D. Almos. Rev. Husser said Grace. Various ladies and CGIT. members replenished and poured tea and coffee. A program, outlining the life of the Church in the last twenty years, under the chairmanship of Mrs.J. Ferrier, introduced Mrs. H.Marsh as the first secret- ary of the Church Board. Mrs. Marsh recalled an early board meeting. Mrs. R.Ostling, first president of the newly formed Ladies Auxiliary spoke of her memories of the meetings which took place in the church across the tracks.
