Page 8 MIXED CURLING Friday night mixed curling has been approved by the Terrace Bay Curling Club. The mixed group have everything going for them, and with a bit of effort from the curlers, it should be a good year. The mens' club have shuffled their schedule to leave Friday night free for the new league. Entry fees have been set at a realistic level to attract new curlers, while members of the mens or ladies club may curl in the mixed league at no extra charge. The new league even has a trophy. The Soughtor Jewelers trophy will be presented to the top rink at the end of the season. Mixed curling is scheduled to start Friday, Nov- ember 24. What we need now are curlers! Entry forms are available at the mill, and publish- ed on Page 9 of this issue. Entries as couples is preferred, but single entries will be accepted. If you wish to enter a complete rink you may do so. Complete rinks will be subject to the approval of the Mixed Curling Committee. Only sixteen rinks will be accepted - enter early. ' Turkey Bonspiel - scheduled for November I7 with a social on the 18th. Bill McKie is chairman of the event and will accept entries up to and including November 14. Team entries are preferred but singles will be accepted and placed on teams if possible. Entries will be limited to sixteen rinks, and adult members of the Recreation Association are eligible to enter. You do not have to be a member of the curl- ing club. Entry fee is low and the prizes are good. Phone Bill at 3840. Executive Appointments - Ken Johnson and Bill McKie have been appointed Directors of the Curling Club to fill vacancies created by resignations. Ice Making - Club members are asked to be prepared to assist Lou Duquette and his commi ttee if called on | this week or next to install hacks, houses, etc. Membership Applications - Application forms for membership in the Men's Curling Club are available at the mill or from Dan Kenney.
