You'll know the caravan's coming when you hear its migh ty claxon blaring out the first four notes of "O Canada" as the eight giant tractor-trailers roll through town to the ex- hibit site early in the morning. Because of its size it will be accompanied by a police es- cort on its way to the site. There, the drivers will arrange the colorful trailers in a quad- rangle, set up the mobile regional exhibits, entrance gangways and bridges between trailers--and the show is ready to open. From 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. daily, visitors can experience the development of Canada from primeval times to the pre- sent. It's not a museum or an art gallery or a history lesson . It's more like a time machine trip to visit the people of all walks of life who lived and worked, laughed and wept in Canada before we came along. Under manager George Moir this caravan travels 3,291 miles through: eastern and Nor- thern Ontario. It exhibits for 164 days, with one day for straight travel and 27 days off for the staff, generally on Mondays . Another caravan tours On- tario west of Toronto-Orillia.
