RECREATION BRIEFS - by D. Courtemanche Lacrosse - Last week, the Terrace Bay Lacrosse _ team travelled to Manitouwadge to play their first out of town game. It was also the first time that an out of town team had gone to Manitouwadge to play Lacrosse. The game was exciting and was played before approximately 300 fans. We were beaten, however, this part was not important. The players had fun, they met new people and were treated by the Recreation Committee at the end of the game. Both teams played well. This was evident in the way the crowd reacted. Pat Smith, Terrace Bay goalkeeper, brought the fans to their feet with his daring play. As goalkeeper, he made stop after . stop.and proceeded to steal the ball and rush to the other end of the arena, to be stopped when four players from the other team converged on him. He was caught out of his net and goals could have been scored on Terrace Bay if it had not been for the alertness of Ricky Hamilton and Danny Woods who stepped into the goal without equipment to make fantastic saves . Mark Dashkewytch was in on the Manitouwadge goalkeeper several times but a to put the ball past him.
