MINARD, NAMED PRESIDENT KIMBERLY- - CLARK CORPORATION Upon graduation from Queen's University, Kingston with an Honors Degree in Chemical Engineering, Guy Minard joined the Spruce Falls Power and Paper Company at Kapuskasing in I928. In 1957 he was appointed Vice President in Charge of Operations in Kimberly-Clark of Canada ; Kimberly-Clark Pulp and Paper; and the associated Spruce Falls Power and Paper Company, with head office in Toronto. In 1962 he was named Canadian President of the three aforementioned companies. Two years later he moved to Neenah, Wisconsin, parent company headquarters, as Executive Vice President and member of the Board of Directors. CENTENNIAL PARK OFFICIALLY OPENED An air of excitement permeated the area of Terrace Bay's Centennial Project on Monday morning, September 4 as preparations got under- way for the long-awaited formal opening of Centennial Park. The event, planned to coincide with the annual Labour Day celebration sponsored by Local 665, International Brotherhood of Pulp, Sulphite and Paper Millworkers and Local 1861, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, included a parade of children (some in Centennial dress) _ led by the Sea Cadet Band from the ball field to the park. Invited and local dignitaries who were given _ seats of honor inside a roped off area included: Hon. & Mrs. G.Wardrope, Mr. & Mrs. R.K. Andras ( continued on Page 2)
