Saturday, August 12, the Terrace Bay Swim Club will travel to Marathon for a swim meet. Only those persons who have attended regular practise sessions at the pool will be allowed to enter this swim meet. Teen Dance - Terrace Bay Teen Town sponsored a dance at the arena last Saturday evening, featuring the musical group known as The Gettysburg Address. The dance was quite successful, however, it was the - feeling of many that they preferred the music of The Torquays, who played at the Centennial dance. It is hoped that Teen Town will be having other dances in the near future. LEGION GOLF TOURN AMENT HELD Saturday, July 29, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 223 held a Club Golf T ournament at the Terrace Bay Golf Club. The weather was perfect with a slight cooling breeze off Lake Superior for the twenty-five contestants entered and the more experienced golfer mixed with the Legion members who were new at the game, had many a laugh and all thoroughly enjoyed the day. The Carling Trophy was won by Hector McLeod with a Net 69, Second Len Swirhun 72, Third John Ferrier 74. Gross for Legion Golf Trophy - First Hector McLeod 91, Second Charlie Koski 96, tie for third between Len Swirhun and John Ferrier with 97. Low Hole - Howard Solly, High Hole - Dennis Bougie, High Game - Henry Duriez, Low Game - Eugene Coss. , Trophies and Blue Mountdiri: pottery prizes were presented by President Pat Jones, sports organizer, at the social that followed in the Curling Lounge in the evening.
