LADIES GOLF NEWS June 15, 1967 Congratulations to Joe Shubaly who was successful The first ladies tournament was rained out on June 6, but another attempt will be made each Tuesday afternoon. The handicaps will be computed every Monday so all ladies should continue to hand in score cards regardless of how high the score The first ladies' two-ball is scheduled for Satur- day afternoon, June 17. This should be lots of fun. The ladies may sign up on the sheet posted in the club house. A beginner will be paired off. with an experienced golfer. We're eagerly looking forward to the first mixed 2-ball on June 22. | am sure the male half of the club have improved sufficiently to "carry" us - duffers. The size of this tournament depends on the number of lady entrants, so come on, gals, sign up early and get these mixed events off to a good start! MENS GOLF NEWS The first men's Twilight Tournament of the season went successfully last Wednesday evening with some 44 entries. Following are the names of those who toek the honours: Low Gross - V. Timpano, Low Net -(in order) H. McLeod, W.Miller, A. Berndtsson, C. Buck and J. Wellings. High Hole - H.Hamilton, Low Hole - A.Costa. Members are reminded that the deadline for pay- ment of the balance of their memberships is JUNE ie Our membership to date stands at 195. CENTENNIAL CORNER - PARK OPENING POST- PONED The official opening of Centennial Park has been postponed until Labour Day. This will allow time for the park to come into full bloom.
