Toast to the Men was made by Dodie Bougie and Grace said by Doris Marcella. A message was read from the President by Dot Ballentine. Past Presidents pins were presented by Cora Bajkiewicz to Lorette Solly and Joyce Mercier. MARTIN'S GRADE 7 INSTITUTES FLAG PLEDG The Centennial project of the Grade 7 class of St. Martin's School is a "Flag Pledge" - To My Flag and to the country it represents, | Pledge respect and loyality. Wave with pride from sea to sea, and within your folds keep you ever united. Be a symbol of freedom and justice. God keep our Flag. God protect Canada. Besides reciting the Pledge daily themselves the students wrote to various government authorities offering to share their pledge with other schools. The office of the Prime Minister commended the project and the _ Minister of Education replied as follows: "Thank you for sending a copy of your class! flag pledge and for expressing your willingness to share it with students throughout Ontario. As you are undoubt- edly aware, the Ontario Department of Education publishes a newsletter entitled Project 67: Cent- ennial News for Ontario Schools. This Centennial newsletter reaches every teacher in each public, separate, secondary and private school in Ontario. Readings were given by two Legion and Auxiliary members, Mr. E. Brown and Mrs. S. Ball- entine and by Mary-Claire Coupal of the Community Church and by Mark Boudreau of St. Martin's. The service closed with the Legion Prayer "Lest We Forget" and the stirring Recessional Hymm "Onward Christian Soldiers". The offering at this service will be ;sent to aid in the work of the Christian Pavillion at Expo. Mr.& Mrs. C .Daley had daughter Barbara and son-in-law Bruce Young visiting over the weekend.
