' RECREATION NOTES - by David Courtemanche Swimming Pool Registrations - The deadline for receiving swimming pool registrations was June 9, however, if you wish to take swimming lessons you can still pick up a form at the Recreation Office. Classes start July 3 and a schedule will be printed for your convenience notifying you of the time to attend. Pool Opening - We hope to be able to open the pool by this Saturday, however, this will depend mainly on the weather as it is preventing us from doing the necessary painting and repairs prior to opening. Let's keep our fingers crossed for good weather . Minor Fastball - Owing to the lack of enthusiasm by both players and mostly coaches the yearly June schedule has been cancelled, however, this does not mean that the Terrace Bay children will go without fastball this summer as both elementary schools are running a rather lucrative ball program and the playground leaders will also be conducting a softball program between July 3 and August II. New Activities - By now you should have received your nice cherry red activity interest and registrat- ion form. We are hoping to offer new opportunities of recreation to both boys and girls as well as rejuvenating old ones. These activities will be conducted in the evenings under the supervision of playground leaders, myself and other instructors in town, however if the registration forms are not returned to the Recreation Office by June 23, then we know there is no interest in these new activities and the program will be cancelled. Playground Training Course - The playground train- ing course will be starting here in Terrace Bay next week and I would like to thank the many Terrace Bay people who have offered their homes for billeting. Playground Program - This program will start on July 3 and will run to August Il. We will be introducing new ideas and new leaders. program will be new and different. i 4 This year's There wouldn t be oy as many pedestrian touch'o eS A attheaide wate actly who talked too much, needs a aw
