Church Youth Group left the Recreation Centre at 10 a.m., on Saturday morning to start a Walkathon to raise money for the Ludhiana Hospital. Ludhiana, in the Punjab of Northern India on the troubled bor- der between India and Pakistan, has a desparate need for medical supplies of all kinds and it is the intention of these young people to provide beds for the many sick infants and children. Check points were established every two miles and it was not long before the walkers struggled over an eight mile section of highway. A letter was written to local service station operator reminding him of the limitations set on the sale of goods in his type of premises. A copy of a letter which mill employees sent to the Department of Transport regarding hazardous conditions at the Mill Rodd intersection was read. A motion was passed to purchase copies of the book entitled "The Wonders of Electricity" from Ontario Hydro. This book will be presented to all students in Grades eight and nine in local schools with the compliments of the Terrace Bay Hydro Utilities. All council members who can do so were auth- orized to attend the annual meeting of the Ontario Municipal Association to be held in Port Arthur on August 20 - 23rd. No parking signs will be installed on the South and East side of Simcoe Plaza.
