Parents and friends had been invited and turned up to support the students. The ceremony opened with the singing of O Canada and under the direction of Mrs. Lois Knauff a group sang Canada' My Home and The Centennial Song. Taking part in the ceremony were: Michael Regis, Joey Dobush, Katherine Gorman, Geralyne Waghorn Teresa Ramsey, Curtis Desrosier, Kathy Zwaresh representing the students, Mrs. F.A.Helmink, Chair- man of the School Board, Principal Mr. R.T.Kenney, Father Gallagher, Reeve Cavanaugh and Centennial Chairman J. Both teams played well with the Public School winning 18-15 .
