Photo by I.McCuaig CANDLE-LIT ENROLMENT CEREMONY In a cnadle-lit ceremony the following girls were enrolled in the Girl Guides (see photo) -- Marilyn Searles, Laura McParland, Jane Crook, Cathy Anderson, Darlene Desmoulins, Aline Fer- land, Kathy McGuire, Karen Kushnieryk, Sharon Scott and Debby Cook. The girls were inducted by leaders Mrs. Andrea Hill and Mrs.Edna Cocks. The color party were Lola Scott, Susan Dimmery, Karen Guina, Dale Sisson, Sheila McParland, Cathy Bottomley. In her address Mrs.Hill pointed out that, while in Brownies, they are expected to become indepen- dent and assist as much as possible in their homes but as Guides their duty is to help in activities outside the home, in their community. Guiding, she said, is carried on in 67 countries in the world. After the ritual the girls sang several numbers to entertain the large audience of parents and friends.
