Articles for the bazaar were handed in and repairs on the church discussed. It was de- cided to have a contractor come in to review existing problems and. give advice on repairs. Prices on shrubs and plants for the church were received. Members decided to have an antique display of Canadiana at the April meeting and each member will try to give the his- tory of articles they bring. Emilo Napriotti was a business visitor to Manitou- wadge recently. Mr. & Mrs. Jerry Bouchard visited Manitouwadge this month. Bob Wesley spent a weekend in Marathon. Lawrence Mushqush visited relatives in Port Arth- ur. Mr. & Mrs. C. Todesco visited Mr. & Mrs. J.R. Douglas at Beardmore recently. Mrs. Daniel Gerow has returned from Port Arthur. Alvin Abbott of Fort William accompanied by his daughter and son in law Mr. & Mrs. Danard visited acquaintances here over the weekend. The Slim Bouchards of Nipigon and John Rays of . Gurney visited their mother Mrs. Albert Ray recent- ly Miss Carol Hubelit is visiting relatives in Wawa. NEI Pace 14 rs. A. Rouble , Mrs. Herb Lif and Mrs. L.Ibey carried away the prizes from the five hundred card club weekly games when they met at Mrs. H.Yanon 's home Wednesday evening. The hostess served lunch. Mr. & Mrs. Eddie Page and family were Lakehead visitors over the weekend. Mrs. Dominic Martin has returned from the Lake- head. MINOR HOCKEY NIGHT Friday, March 10th was an exciting night for all the boys in Minor Hockey. This was the night for parents to see what their boys could do on the ice. First line-up included the Fly-weights. Next, the Pee Wee League formed two teams and played again- st each other. The PeeWee All Stars played the | Bantam League in a game which ended ina two all tie. The big events for the evening included Marathon Midgets playing Terrace Bay Midgets. The game ended in a 5-3 score in favour of Terrace Bay. Following the Midget game the Bantams went on to play Schreiber Bantams. This game ended 4 to 1 in favour of Schreiber. At the half-way point in the evening, a draw was made on the Surprise Package, which was a lovely cake won by Maurice Cadieux. The cake was decorated just like the ice in the Arena with two nets on it and a hockey stick and even a puck. The evening was arranged by The Terrace Bay Minor Hockey Association Executive; President Lester Legault. Appreciation is extended to all who supported Minor Hockey and those who helped to make the evening successful . MINOR HOCKEY NEWS Saturday, March 4 the Bantams were in action in the Arana. Semi-finals for the. Northwestern Champ ionship against Wawa were held. Our team had a hard time against a strong team. First game score was 5-0 in favour of Wawa. Sunday, the second game, Wawa again came on strong and took the win with a score of 8-2. The same weekend the Midgets travelled to the Lakehead for the Centennial Tournament Semi-Finals Their first game played against the Lakehead ended in a score of 7-3 for the Lakehead. Second game - Lakehead vs. Fort Frances ended in an 8-5 score for the Lakehead. (continued on Page 13)
