Bray attended one of the shorter sessions of Terrace Bay Municipal Council last week but Reeve Cavanaugh was in Toronto attending the annual meeting of the Ontario Municipal Electric Associat- ion. Hydro Superintendent Don Boudreau also attend- ed the O.M.E.U. meeting. Current correspondence included a reply from the Department of Transport to Councils' request that driver tests be made in Terrace Bay. Regulations of the Department specify that drivers should not be required to drive 25 miles to take these tests so the present arrangements will stand. Terrace Bay residents who wish to take driver tests may make appointments through the Provincial Police in Schr- eiber. . : The Public School Board again brought to the attention of Council the matter of flooding in the ball field area during spring thaw. A possible solu- tion is being considered. The appointment of F. Anderson to the Recreation Committee was ratified. A road maintenance budget in the amount of $15,000. was approved. Residents who propose major electrical installation or repairs are required to purchase a building permit. Recreation Accounts in the amount of $5,885.49 were passed for payment. It was noted that the school is now staffed with a larger percentage of above average teachers than most schools in Northwestern Ontario. Recommendations made by Staff Inspectors during their visits in the past several years have been acted upon and facilities in the library, gym and guidance room have been improved with further extensive improvements planned.
