Teams participated from Mip- Rock, Schreiber and Terrace Bay. The teams arrived Friday afternoon and were assigned billets. The games got under-way with Geraldton playing Schreiber girls. Schreiber came out victorious with a 28-6 score. The Geraldton boys then played Terr- ace Bay with Geraldton on top. Schreiber girls played Nip-Rock next and won. Following this game Nip-Rock and Schreiber boys played with Nip- Rock winning. The schools were treated to a meal at the cafeteria of the school. Then games continued after supper until 8.30 p.m. Geraldton girls against Terrace girls lost. Nip-Rock vs. Terrace Bay and the day ended with Nip-Rock winning this game. A "Basket Ball" was put on by the students for the visiting schools and a live orchestra "The Tiaras" from the Lakehead supplied enjoyable music. The next morning, the gym empty except for two teams, Schreiber and Terrace Bay giris played with next column.... TERRACE BAY NEWS Page 11 Terrace coming out ahead 30-22. A very close game between Nip-Rock and Geraldton girls had the Geraldton team win in three minutes overtime. The Terrace Bay boys inst again to Schreiber in the next game. This put Schreiber and Terrace boys out of the games altogether but they put up a good fight and the Terrace boys were commented on for their good sportsmanship. The Cheerleading competitions were held with Schreiber coming first. This was decided after they had tied with Nip-Rock and was won by a final decision of the Principal of G.C.H.S. Terrace Bay was third and Geraldton occupied Fourth place. Two games were then left to play and they were decisive games as to whom trophies would be awarded The girl's trophy went to Terrace Bay and the boy's to N ip-Rock. Leading scorers for Terrace Bay = Girls: L.Simmer 38 points, K. Olsen and M. Wallwin 10 points, T. Pastor and G. Dakin 9 points. Boys - B.Broad- hurst 19 points, J.Mikus and G.Chesley |4 points, and T.Black 10 points. LADIES' GOLF NEWS At a meeting of the Ladies Golf Club held on February 22, the following executive was elected for the coming season: President Peggy Wellings, Vice- President Ivy Pattison, Secretary Treasurer Liz Burns, Publicity , Fund-raising and Membership Lois Shub- aly, Tournaments and Prizes Marie Edmunds, Enter- tainment Ellen Campbell, Directors Dot Koski and Jan Hall. Membership fee was set at $2.00. Lady golfers must be members of this club in addition to joining .the main club, to be eligible to participate in any tournaments. A busy summer of fun and excitement is in store for all golfers, with the two ball foursomes scheduled to begin early in June, and a monstrous weekend of golf to look forward to on August 4 to 7. 'Ladies Day' will be Tuesday afternoons this year.
