Government standards for new tires have been announced by Hon. Irwin Haskett, Ontario Mini- ster of Transport. He said the "V-1" standard would be required for most types of new automobile tires sold in Ontario. The standard, effective immediately is defined in a lengthy government regulation. It covers the tires used on vehicles of North American design, including 34 combinations of tire and-rim sizes.
