Terrace Bay High School will offer Night School courses in (1) Conversa- tional French, (2) Beginning Sewing (3) Advanced Sewing, for Terrace Bay residents if there are at least 15 applicants per course. The introduction of other courses will be considered if there are sufficient applicants and instruc- tors available. We sincerely trust that every organization in town will be planning at least one special event to help celebrate our one hundredth birthday and to this end | will be available to any executive body for sug- gestions or advice. | must take this opportunity to congratulate our citizens for the neat and well kept homes, lawns and gardens over the past summer but in so doing | would be remiss in my duty if | did not make a special cppeal to those very few occupants of homes which still spoil the beauty of a neighborhood to please improve the appearance of your property for next year We will be holding regular monthly meetings be- ginning Tuesday, September 27th at 7.30 P.M. in the Recreation Centre, for which notices will be sent out, but if any organization should be missed please come and let us know. CURLING NEWS At a meeting of the executive of the Men's Curling Club on Monday evening the following events were scheduled: 1. Annual Meeting - to be held in the Curling Club Lounge at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11th. A stag will follow the meeting, with a sport movie be- ing shown. Chairman is Bob Roberts. 2. Turkey Bonspiel - The annual opening 'spiel will. be held on November 4, 5 and 6th. This will be a mixed event open to all local residents. Jack Chap- man is chairman. 3. Scheduled Curling:- Regular club curling will commence on November 7th. Membership chairman is Benny Hayes, assisted by Rocky Gavin and Hector McLeod. Application forms will be available soon - individual or team entries are welcomed. --_------------------------------------------------ ATTENTION, BOWLERS REMEMBER THIS DAY - TUESDAY 27th. General meeting of the Terrace Bay Bowling Association will be held in the large meeting room at 7.30 p.m. sharp.
