S_ptember 22, 1966 TERRACE BAY NEWS Page |3 TOWN DUMP TO BE MOVED * The refuse area for the Township, commonly referred to as the Town Dump, will cease to exist in its present location as of October 3rd. The reason for moving the dump is to prevent possible contamination from this area into Lake Superior. The new Town refuse area will be located east of the Mill. It will be approached from off the mill road, opposite the road that leads to the Moose Hall (South Camp). : There will be no burning at the new dump. As the refuse is collected and emptied, it will be buried in trenches in the ground. Signs will be posted showing new location. MAP (East) ROSSPORT NEWS Lakehead visitors last week included Mr.and Mrs. M.Hubelit and Maxine, Mr.and Mrs.Herb.Legault, and Gilbert Martin. Mr .and Mrs.J.R.Douglas of Beardmore spent the weekend with the C .Todesco's. Mr .and Mrs.A.Laurie have left for Nipigon. Lorne Zwaresh and Pat Hall have left for Toronto. Miss Patricia Gerow is holidaying with friends at Sault Ste .Marie. Herb .Lif has returned from Terrace Bay hospital . Mr.and Mrs.F .Rogers and children of Nipigon spent the weekend with Mr.and Mrs.W.Langtree. Jacqueline Langtree is visiting her parents. The Ken Bowliers were Nakina visitors over the weekend. Jos .Fowler has returned from a holiday in east- ern Ontario. Mr and Mrs .Mike Wannakimik and family have returned from McDiarmid. Adolph King has returned to McDiarmid after visiting friends here. ; Mr .and Mrs .Chas.Colquhoun of Pt.Arthur are visiting Mr.and Mrs.John MacDonald at their sum- mer home at Nee-shin Lake. Mrs ..Leonard Ibey was hostess to members of the Community Church Ladies Aid Tuesday evening. The president, Mrs.Hal Middleton, tendered her resignation as she is leaving to make her home at Longlac where Mr.Middleton is being transferred Highway 17 (West) South Camp Road To Mill with the Dept.of Lands and Forests as game warden. The members regret losing Mrs .Middleton from their group. Mrs.Joyce Yandon was elected as replace- ment for the balance of the term. The minutes and communications were read by Mrs .lbey and articles were handed in for the an- nual b azaar. Following closing exercises the hostess served re- freshments . Once more "The Singing Missionary is coming to the Schreiber Gospel Mission. An outgoing, dy- namic personality, John J.McDonald, is one of Canada's outstanding gospel singers. He will hold one service at Schreiber Gospel Mission on Tuesday Sept.27th at 7 o'clock. Everyone welcome. The Mission is also holding a special meeting on Froday, Sept.30th at 7 o'clock when the guest speaker will be Mr.Tanner from Winnipeg where he works with the "Leprosy Mission". An invitation is extended to all to hear Mr.Tanner'as he presents the work of his mission and some of the conditions prevalent in other lands. Sympathy of the community is extended to Mrs. S.Cash and h er family who received word of the death of Jas.Hugh Cash, aged 29, in Vancouver on September I7th. The body is being brought to Schreiber for interment.
