Page 8 THE CENTENNIAL COMMITTEE (Continued from page 5) CONFERENCE AND THE North Shore Curling Cham pionships. Not all these events have given firm dates and they, and all other organizations who wish to join in the '67 celebration, are urged to make decisions quickly and to let the Committee know the dates of their events so that the '67 Centennial Calendar for Terrace Bay may be drawn up and dis- tributed among tourist information centres. Definite arrangements have been made by the Com mittee to bring the following to Terrace Bay in 1967: October--Centennial Caravan: December--Child- ren's Theatre: September (possibly) - Catherine McKinnon Show: In December 1966 - Portraits of the Past - a fashion show portraying famous histor- ical characters in the style of dress they wore. Each community that stages the show provides the models. Attempts are being made to obtain engagements from a number of groups which will pass through Ter- race Bay during 1967. These include touring military bands, a motor cycle corps and others. FALL FESTIVAL AND FISH DERBY REPORT Project Chairman Buck Matiowsky records that the Fall Festival and Fish Derby is progressing rapidly and enthusiasm is beginning to run high. He pre- dicts this to be the largest single event ever to be held in Terrace Bay. The program runs for five full days and he has termed it as the "little C.N.E.". The program of- fers entertainment and participation for young and old. One of the latest additions to the program are an open Band Concert on Sunday, September 4. The Fort William Girls Pipe Band and Highland Dancers will put on an open air exhibition in the park area adjoining the swimming pool. Indications are that the Men's Chorus and Terrace Bay Band will also contribute several numb ers to the concert. The Kiwanis Club are asking co-operation and support from each and every citizen in Terrace Bay and along the northshore to plan ahead for this spec- tacular event by attending. Contestants from Manitouwadge, Marathon, Ter- race Bay and Schreiber will vie for the title of Miss Queen Mermaid for 1966.
