Kenneth Gibbs. ARCHBISHOP ADMINISTERS CONFIRMATION Most Rev. W. L. Wright, arch- bishop of Algoma, was in St. John's Anglican church Sunday to administer the rite of con- firmation upon Catherine Jane Bottomley, Carol Elaine Dim- mery, Linda Carol Lidkea, Don- ald Wayne Tremblay, and Nor- man Bradford Halonen, Rev. Kenneth Gibbs, of Nipi- gon, was chaplain for the serv- ive and for the topic of his ad- dress chose The Feet of Jesus. Following the service a recep- tion was held in the church hal) when tea was poured by Mrs. J. D.: Bryson and Mrs. Jack Corbett with the girls' auxiliary assisting the women's auxiliary in serving lunch, Mark Stokes, Bill Souliere and Gordon Ross. Mrs.Helen Dooley was the instructor. JEWEL PRESENTED AT REBEKAH LODGE Mrs. Mary Husband and Mrs. Bern Whent, were in charge of the regular meeting of Ruby Rebekah Lodge when donations were made to the Canadian Bible Society and the Navy Lea- gue of Canada.' Mrs. Beth Macadam presented a 15-year jewel to Mrs. Ann Etches. Mrs. Mavis Slater re- ported on the recent meeting of the local centennial committee. Election of officers was an- nounced for the next regular meeting. Mr.and Mrs.Neil Bottomley are in Sudbury at- tending the fiftieth wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs.George Connor, the latter's parents. Mary Lou Karns in working in Banff for the sum- mer. Mr .and Mrs .Jack Johnston are in Vancouver for a vacation. J.Evans is relieving in Chapples during Mr . Johnston's absence. E arl McCouan, Raymond Niemi and Lorraine Bedard are home from Windsor to visit their parents. Mrs .Ross Greenwood of Wrexdale and Mr.and Mrs .Earl Cameron and children of Sudbury, are with their parents, Mr.and Mrs .Jack Rattray. GOVERNOR'S BALL HELD BY MOOSE LODGE The first annual Governor's Ball, Lodge No.I752, Loyal Order of the Moose, was held to honor past governor Michael Didura. In recognition of his devoted service and achievements during office Don Laporte, on behalf of the Lodge, presented a ring bearing the Moose Crest, a blazer and a scroll bearing the names of all members. Over 200 attended the dinner from district com- munities. Bill Kushnieryk was M.C. for the dinner and also made arrangements for the Ball. Mrs. Didura was presented with a corsage. Officers at the head table (some unable to attend) being honored for the 1965-66 service, included Joe Wills, Joe Dejonghe, John Gross, Edward St.Denis, Stewart Reid, Edward Lang, Edmund Towes, Rene Gaudet all accompanied by their ladies. Joe Wills is incoming Governor. Don Laporte (right) presents scroll and gifts to Past Governor Michael Didura of Moose Lodge.
