TERRACE BAY NEWS Vol. 9, No.19 TO PROPOSED HIGH SCHOOL OVERWHELMING "YES" FOR DAYLIGHT SAVING Five hundred and ninety-four ballots were turned in by local residents to register their desires on the question of whether Terrace Bay should operate on daylight saving time during the summer months . Three hundred and ninety-two voted "YES" - one hundred and eighty-one voted "NO" - ten non- residents voted, there were three duplications and eight spoiled ballots. TALENT SHOW BRINGS OUT LARGE AUDIENCE The Singing Railroader, Cosmo Filane of Schreiber emceed the Kiwanis Club Talent Show held here on Friday night. Accordionist Tony Commisso of Schreiber won first prize in the Junior Division while Miss Joanne Brown of Terrace Bay won both the sec- ond prize in the Senior Division and the Outstanding Amateur Performer Trophy. Nineteen acts competed for the prize money and trophy. Second place winners in the juniors, *% Marilyn and Glen Kujbida opened the show with an accordion duet. They were followed Ly the first place winners in the Senior Division, Rosemay and Fr ances Gionet of Manitouwadge who played their own original composition, "My Sailor, My Love", followed by "The Ballad of the Green Beret." The youngest competitor, Mario Commisso of Schreiber, aged 6, appeared next with his accordion los then Twin sisters Carol and Holly Brown sang two duets. They were accompanied by their sister Joanne. Still in the junior class, Ricky Lohr played two piano solos then Tony Commisso (Continued page 4)
