CAVANAUGH CENSUS COMMISSIONER Mr .W.E.Cuvanaugh has been appointed local Commissioner for the Census of Population and the Fdrm Census which begins June 1, across Canada. He will administer No.1 census district which will be divided into 9 sub districts employ ing twenty- three census takers. The population census consists of just five questions and the farm census will also be simple but with more questions listed. They will also record all business establish- ments to develop a master list for the Census of Merchandising which will be completed by mail after the end of the 1966 fiscal year. One aspect of the Census stressed by Mr .Cavan- augh as he made preparations to administer the Census locally was the need for public cooperation. He urged everyone in the district to cooperate be- cause "in the long run, everybody stands to benefit,' he said. NEW EXECUTIVE ELECTED BY MEN CURLERS At the Annual Meeting of the Men's Curling Club held here on Monday in the Curling Club Lounge th e retiring president, Hec.McLeod, thanked the past officers for their services during the year. Reports for the year were then presented. Nominations were taken and the following offi- cers were elected: President, Jim JacDonald - Vice-president, Hec.McLeod - Directors, Jack Chapman, John Benko, Bennie Hayes, Rockie Gavin H enry Hermes, Ed Kennedy, Carl LeBlanc secre- tary and Jack Caccamo treasurer. Trustees are Bob Roberts., Tom Battershill and Dr .Brian MacDon- ald. After the meeting a social was held and a good time was had by all.
