The Festival will be held in Sault Ste .Marie this year, usually during Easter Week. SENIOR FIRST AID COURSE SET FOR MAY A senior St.John Ambulance First Aid course will be held in Schreiber the first two weeks in May. The course will consist of four nights with three three-hour lessons and an examination on the last night. Anyone interested who has not already registered please contact before April I5th, either Mrs.D.Rummery at 174 or Mrs.H.Jartus at 141 in order that the necessary supplies can be ordered before the class starts. Photo |.McCuaig BUSY BEES HOLD SUCCESSFUL HAT SHOW Eighty hats were displayed at the annual Hat Show of the Busy Bees, Anglican Church group, held Saturday in the Church Hall. Modelling the hats were Mesdames Cy ril Sparkes, Jack Corbett, Alvin Slater, Ken Himes and A.C. Rigelsford and the Misses Sandy Dennison and Heath er Tremblay. Mrs.Gladys Madigan was commenta- tor, Mrs.K.S.Williamson did the make-up and the smart accessories of scarves, handbags, shoes and jewelry were sold by Mrs.Robert Winters. Tea, small cakes and sandwiches were served during the intermission by Shirley Ann Winters and Jane Bailey, with Mesdames T.Whitton, A. Bull, W .Collinson, Jack Bryson and Don Tremblay as the kitchen committee. ANNUAL REPORT PRESENTED BY LIBRARY BOARD A circulation of 13,923 was shown in the annual report of Schreiber Public Library, presented at the regular meeting on April 2. This figure includes fiction and reference books, films and the units used by the highschool library. The Library, established in 1891, now has 500 registered borrowers and some 4,000 books. It is open fifteen hours a week and the borrowing count runs from 1,200 some months down to 500 during the holiday seasons. Nine regular meetings are held each year.
