The District Mill Manager J.Ferrier, presents Gold Pass to Frank J. Frank FRANK J.FRANK, HONOURED ON RETIREMENT Frank J.Frank, en employee of Kimberly-Clark Pulp and Paper Company Limited for 15 years, re- tired on pension on February 21st. Frank was born in Austria in 1901 and came to Canada in 1928. He went directly to the Winnipeg area where he was employed variously as a farm- hand, commercial fisherman, carpenter and painter before becoming a pulp-cutter. In 1936 he moved to the Thunder Bay district and over the years worked as a pulp cutter for almost every company in the business. During the war he spent one year at the Prisoner of War Camp at Hurkett, supervising a P.O.W. cutting operation. In 1951 Frank joined Kimberly-Clark as a Watchman and was so employed until his retirement. Prior to his retirement, Frank was entertained by his co-workers at a luncheon where he was presented with a wrist watch. He was guest of honour on the date of his retirement at a Company sponsored luncheon at which time Mill Manager John Ferrier presented him with the Company's Permanent Gold Pass. Frank has been back to Austria and Germany for visits on ten occasions. He is looking forward to his next trip with more than the usual anticipation-- it will be his first Christmas at home with his brother and sister in 38 years. In the near future Frank will take up residence in Port Arthur. As long as he stays in this district he will likely be a frequent visitor to Terrace Bay. UNION DUES NOW SEPARATE DEDUCTION Terrace Bay-Feb. 28. Union dues and professional fees are a separate item on the 1965 income tax form said L.E.Mann, District Taxation Officer. This means that the dues and fees may be claimed as a deduction in addition to the regular $100 for medical expenses and charitable donations. Previous- ly all three items were lumped together . TERRACE BAY BANTAMS ON WINNING STREAK In recent playoff action, the Terrace Bay Bantams advanced a step closer towards the North Shore Ban- tam Hockey championship. In their first round play- off, they eliminated Schreiber 20-9. In the other series, their first game with Red Rock, Terrace Bay edged Red Rock 7-6.
