Photo by Inez McCuaig LEGION ZONE MEETING HELD IN SCHREIBER Zone 82, Royal Canadian Legion, held a meeting in the Schreiber Legion attended by Bill McKay, Jack Little and Len Pineault from Terrace Bay, Br. 223 - A.J.Doherty (president) and Peter Paushway from Marathon Br .183 with Hobden Spikula (presi- dent), David Gunter, Bill Collinson and Jack Win- ters representing Schreiber, Br.l09. Leonard Hil- ler, Zone Commander, also attended. Topics discussed at length were the Centennial Fund and membership. Following the meeting the Ladies Auxiliary served a cold plate supper. T.B. SURVEY UNDERWAY IN DISTRICT David Goodyear of the Ontario Department of Health met with Terrace Bay and Schreiber residents who will arrange for a survey of centres in this area preliminary to a tuberculosis survey by Heaf gun test and X-rays. The survey will be made in the latter part of April. Officers appointed for the survey were N.A. McCuaig, Mrs.Ken Davis, Mrs.Charles Pearson, Mrs.W.G .Furlonger and Mrs.L.R.McCuaig, Mrs. Bruce Lidkea - all of Schreiber and Mrs.Clarence Mercier, Mrs.C .Bougie, Mrs.John Benko and Mrs. Paul Coupal of Terrace Bay. Every home in the two towns will be contact just prior to. the survey in an all-out effort to get com- plete coverage. ZONE KINSMEN HOLD BONSPIEL HERE The Kinsmen of Zone 4 held their bonspiel on February I3th in Schreiber with the following rinks skipped by Jim Edwards. Fort William, Frank Mauro, Clarence Johnson and Yosh Tatebe, Port Arthur, Bob Bussman, Geraldton, Mike Cosgrove, Gino Caccamo and George Riley, Schreiber. The first event was won by the Geraldton rink, the second by Mike Cosgrove's rink and a special consolation prize went to Gino Caccamo's rink-- the first one knocked out. During the afternoon the Kinettes served hot cof- fee and quick snacks and at the close of the 'spiel a hot turkey dinner was served buffet-style in the club house, also by the Kinettes. Jim McCuaig was down from Fort William to curl with the Schreiber rinks.
