Brotherhood Week is sponsored by the Canadian Council of Christians and Jews. The observance was begun in 1948 in a single Ontario community and has grown since until almost every major com- munity in the country participates. Most people support the idea of the brotherhood of men. Unfortunately, however, not everyone makes use of the idea as a guide to daily living. Animosities and prejudices continue to drive wedges between people. The barriers cannot be removed by legislation be- cause it is not possible to legislate changes in human nature. But it is possible to influence human 'attitudes by education. And this is where Brother- hood Week comes in. It focuses attention on those things shared in common by all races and creeds. This is a commendable effort. The more people join together in support of the objectives of human brotherhood, the quicker intolerance will fade. February |7, 1966 TOWNSHIP OF TERRACE BAY PROCLAMATION BOY SCOUT WEEK The Council of The Corporation of The Township of Terrace Bay, at its meeting held on the 8th day of February, 1966, adopted a resolution as follows: "That the week of February 20 - 26 be, and the same is hereby fixed, as Boy Scout Week for the current year, and that the Reeve be requested to publish the usual proclamation for this purpose ."
