Vol. 9; No< 1 Serving the District January 6, 1966 KIMBERLY-CLARK ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARTY The several changes made in the annual Christ- mas Party program proved very successful. For the past eight years the party has always been held at the High School Auditorium and consisted of the usual appearance of Santa with free treats and gifts for the kiddies. This year, through the combined efforts of the Management group of Kimberly-Clark and the Director of Recreation, the programme was held at the Roxy Theatre on December 18th. The younger group consisted of children from pre-school age to eight years. They gathered in the theatre at 10.00 a.m. to receive the usual Christmas candy but also to see coloured comic car- toons, hear Santa Claus' messages and then the climax - the appearance of Santa and his elves. . On the way out at noon, each child received a bag of Christmas candy. The afternoon group were the 9 to 14 year olds. They came at 2.00 p.m. to play free bingo - with valuable prizes - then saw the coloured Walt Disney movie "Lady and the Tramp". The movie ended with the distribution of free treats and best wishes from Santa. This Christmas party was the first of its kind and proved to be very successful with a grand total of 970 children attending. The Teen Town Club did a worthy job of ushering, distributing treats, amusing the kids and cleaning up afterwards. This party was made possible through the courtesy of Kimberly-Clark Pulp & Paper Co. Ltd. SPARKLE CONTEST WINNERS ANNOUNCED Terrace Bay sparkled better than ever this Christmas season when a great many of the residents took part in the contest sponsored by Kiwanis and Hydro. Picking the winners for the best decorated homes was very difficult for the judges Les Crandlemire, Pat Buck and W. McMicking. The Grand Prize finally went to Eric Opas and the four other prizes to J. Cumming, F. Helmink, T. Olsen and W. Vezina. Hydro and Kiwanis wish to express their thanks to the people of Terrace Bay who so wholeheartedly co-operated in making this the best Yule Light season.
