FUNERAL SERVICE FOR LATE MR. GLAD The funeral of the late Roy William Melvin Glad, 38, who died Dec. 22 in Chase, B.C., was conducted in St. Andrew's United Church in Schreiber Dec. 27 by Rev. R. J. S. Inshaw. Pallbearers were J. R. Rum- mery, Pat Bolan, Ted Graham, E. J. McAdam, Albert Bourguignon and Jim Boon. He is survived by parents Mr. and Mrs. William Glad and brothers Earl and Melvin, all of Schreiber. Born in Schreiber, he re- eeived his education here and fn Fort William. Returning to Schreiber he was employed at Kimberly-Clark Pulp and Paper Co. Ltd. and left 12 years ago to enter business in Calgary where he remained until the time of his death. LONG TIME RESIDENT DIES The funeral service for the late Mrs. Annie Verena Duncan, 67, whose sudden death in hospital occurred on December 21st, was conducted in St. John's Anglican Church December 23rd, by Rev. R. J. S. Inshaw. Mrs. Inshaw was organist and two favourite hymns of the deceased, "Abide with Me" and "Rock of Ages" were sung. Pallbearers were Harold Fisher, Jack Whitton, Albert Costa, T.P. Whent, Pat Bolan and D.N. Husband of Terrace Bay. cemetery. Interment was in Schreiber THE NEWS Mrs. Duncan is survived by her husband George, two sons, Cpl. W. G. Duncan, RCMP, McCreary, Man., Const. Avery Duncan, Ft. William, three daughters, Helena (Mrs. Douglas Murray) of Win- nipeg, Mildred (Mrs. Victor Welsh) of Terrace Bay and Violet (Mrs. Leo Aber) of Sault Ste. Marie, a brother, W. G. Furlonger of Schreiber also seven grandchildren. Mrs. Duncan was born in Bilton, Northumberland England and came to Canada with her parents to Allendale, Ontario in 1904 then to Schreiber in 1908 where she married George Duncan in 1919. She was a member of St. John's Anglican Church. The many floral tributes sent and the number of friends who at- tended the service showed the affection in which Mrs. Duncan was held by the community. . .. Ridsdale held open house Monday, December 20th, in honor of her husband whose re- tirement from the C.P.R. took place the same day. For the occasion, Mrs. Ridsdale received in a pea- cock blue brocade sheath dress topped by a brief jacket. Many friends and fellow workers called to offer congratulations and present, for the event, were son Ron of Toronto and Mr. Ridsdale's brother Car- man of Palmerston, Ontario. Assisting the hostess were Mesdames G. Walsh, R.W. Turner, W.C. Baines, W.H. Neimi, D. Tremblay, C.R. Pike, R.T. Campbell and D. Harrison. KINSMEN SPREAD CHEER AT CHRISTMAS Santa Claus accompanied members of the Schreiber Kinsmen Club when they paid their an- nual Christmas visit to shut-ins and pensioners.
