JEROME'S With the altar decorated in the Christmas theme, Lorraine Agnes Mushqush, daughter of Lawrence Mushqush and the late Mrs. Mushqush of Pays Plat Mission, and William Greer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Greer of Pt. Arthur, were married in St. Jerome's Church at Pays Plat by Rev. Father Maurice at 10 o'clock Monday morning December 27th. The wedding music was played by Mrs. Bill Hubelit and the choir sang "On This Day O Beautiful Mother" during the signing of the register. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a street length gown of imported nylon over taffeta in a pale rose shade. The fitted bodice had a scalloped neckline edged with embroidered lace and a three quarter sleeved bolero. The skirt fell in full unpressed pleats. She wore a three strand aurora borealis cut crystal necklace and ear rings, a gift of the groom. Her three tiered shoulder length net veil was caught to a circle of seed pearls and white rosettes. Her accessories were white and she carried a bouquet of white carnations and fern. Miss Joyce Mushqush, neice of the bride, was the bridesmaid and was gowned in a street length full skirted dress of blue peau de soie over taffeta with insets of lace appliques. The fitted bodice had a scooped neckline, lace bolero and cummer- bund. She wore white accessories and a blue head- dress with fly away veil and carried a blue car- nation nosegay. Ken Holmberg, brother in law of the groom,was bestman and Mike Wannekimik, brother in law of the bride,was usher . A reception was held at the home of Mr. & Mrs. David Mushqush in Rossport. The house and luncheo table were decorated with pink, blue and white streamers and bells. The table was centered with a driftwood centerpiece holding white and blue flowers and the three tiered wedding cake, made and decorated by Mrs. Herb Legault was surrounded by white and pink tulle. Receiving the guests were Mrs. Mushqush and Mrs. Greer, Mrs. Mushqush choosing a black en- semble of silk crepe and black accessories and a corsage of white and pink carnations. Mrs. Greer wore beige nylon lace over taffeta with brown ac- cessories and a corsage of cream roses. Dining room hostess was Mrs. Herb Legault and pouring were Mrs. Legault and Mrs. Bain. Servitors were Misses Paulette Auger, Caroline Mushqush, Hilda Mushqush and Mrs. E. Gerow. Mrs. Todesco cut and served the wedding cake. For going away the bride wore a blue suit with white accessories. Mr. & Mrs. Greer will reside on Victoria Street in Pt. Arthur. Out of town guests were Mr. & Mrs. G. Greer, Mr. & Mrs. K. Holmberg, Miss Colleen Greer, Mr. K. Greer and Mr. J. Keto of Pt. Arthur and Miss Paulette Auger of Nipigon. Miss Carol Hubelit and Lionel Hubelit of Wawa visited their parental home over Christmas weekend. THE NEWS SCHOOL AND RATEPAYERS MEETING The annual school and ratepayers meeting was held in the school to review school problems and to elect a new trustee. Romeo Bouchard and Gordon Rousseau were nominated. As they were both absent, they are to be approached to see if one of them will accept the position. SOCIAL & PERSONAL Mr. & Mrs. R. Bouchard and family visited relatives in Marathon during the holidays. Mr. & Mrs. Bruce Gerow and children of Kapuskasing visited his parents, Mr. & Mrs. E. Legault. Mr. & Mrs. Geo. Stevens (formerly Miss Nan Watt teacher here last year) were married on the 28th in Toronto and are honeymooning in the village. Mr. C. Downey, principal of the Separate School. in Chapleau, was in the village during the holidays. Mr. Emile Seppala and daughter, Mrs. Mary Mac- Donald of Pt. Arthur are guests of T.F. Seppalas. Alex Zwaresch has his son Lorne of Toronto with him for the Christmas holidays. Russel Gerow of Ft. William visited his family here. Mrs. Ed Martin of Gurney spent Christmas weekend with her daughter Mrs. Rousseau and family. Mr. & Mrs. H. Legault visited relatives at the Lakehead recently. Mr. & Mrs. Darwin Dufoe and family have left to reside in Toronto. Mr. & Mrs. Bren Ray and family of Middleton were guests of his mother and relatives during the week. Mr. & Mrs. A. Nykanen and children of Nipigon, Jas. LaSavage of Heron Bay and Pat Auger of Long- ldc spent New Years with Mrs. Louise Auger. Mrs. P.J. Sully and Mr. & Mrs. E. Legault were Lakehead visitors during the week. Mrs. P. Auger and grandson Roger visited relatives at Red Rock Christmas weekend. Mrs. Mac Hubelit and daughter Maxine are holidaying with relatives at Wawa. Miss Caroline Mushgush has returned from Toronto. The Staff of the Dept. of Lands and Forests at Pays Plat Depot held their annual dinner party Wednesday evening at the staff house.
