Gray was convenor for the Legion Auxiliary Poppy Day Tea with Mrs. W. Paradis, the president, as cashier. Servitors were Mesdames A.E. Rigelsford, F. MacDonald, L. Hiller, R. Hewson with. Mesdames B. Lidkea and F. Crawley replenishing. Mrs. N. McCuaig and Mrs. W. Lidkea were in charge of the bake table. The draw prize cake was won by Mrs. B. Moon with Pam Spikula drawing the ticket. Mr. & Mrs. J. Boon and family of Hearst and Mr. & Mrs. J.P. Gauthier and family of Folyet were home visiting Mr. & Mrs. C. Boon before Mrs Boon left for the Pt. Arthur General Hospital to undergo surgery. Mr. & Mrs. D'Arcy McGuire will leave this week to visit the former's parents in Alumette Is. The doll raffled by the Catholic Girls' Club, was won by J. P. Tessier with Mrs. H. Costall making the draw at the Legion Auxiliary tea. REBEKAH NEW OFFICERS' TEA Receiving at the Rebekah New Officers' Tea held on Wednesday afternoon iin the Town Hall, were Mrs. Mary Husband, Noble Grand; Mrs. Dora Weaver, District Deputy President and Mrs. Bern Whent, Vice Grand. Mrs. M. Gander was cashier and tea was poured by Mrs. B. Macadam and Mrs. H. McBride. The door prize was won by Mrs. W. Miller and the layer cake by Mrs. R. Macadam. C.G.1.1T. Cocks, the President, received the crowd attending the turkey dinner in the Guild Hall on Sunday. Mrs. T. Morrow was cashier with Mrs. A. O'Keefe as dining room hostess and the women of the church acting as servitors and working in the kitchen. Mrs. R. B. Spadoni sold draw tickets with Maurice Lalonde winning the man's wristwatch and George Singleton the electric blanket. JUNIORS WIN 5 -4 OVER GOLDMINERS Schreiber - Terrace Bay Jun- fors opened their season on a winning note here Sunday by shading Geraldton' Goldminers 5-4 to the delight of more than 250 home town fans in Terrace Bay Community Centre. Schreiber-Terrace Bay jump- ed into a 3-0 lead in the first period and led 5-2 at the end of the middle frame. The win moved Schreiber- Terrace, last season's North- western Ontario Junior Hockey League champions, into a first- place tie with Geraldton and Nipigon-Red Rock who have one win each. REMEMBRANCE Moe MacDonald and Bill Sta- chiw led the Schreiber-Terrace Bay scoring attack with. two goals each and Dominic Pel- legrino added a single. Charles Kelner and Adam Rodak scored Geraldton's sec- ond-period goals. Goldminers threatened to tie up the count in the third period as John Jack- son and Robert Ruddick added two quick tallies before the final frame was even three minutes under way. Ward stopped 28 shots in the Geraldton net and Webb turned aside 37 for Schreiber-Terrace Bay.
