The date was set for Dec. 19 with Mrs.Leonard Hiller, Mrs.Bruce Lidkea and Mrs .Alf Bull convening. Mrs .Lidkea also agreed to convene the Poppy Day Canvas and Mrs.lvan Johnson will convene the Nov. llth draw. The St.John Church Busy Bees will cater for the November ||th banquet and Mrs.Ralph Hewson will decorate the head table. Mrs.Robert Gray will convene a Poppy Day Tea when a bake table and door prize will be attractions. Mrs.Leonard Hiller, Mrs .Ralph Hewson and Mrs.Bern Whent were appoint- ed nominating committee while Mrs.David Gunter, Mrs.K.Davis and Mrs.W.lbey were named December meeting hostesses . UNITED CHURCH WOMEN MEET A $75 dollar donation was made by the United Church Women at their November meeting to assist the Junior Choir. Mrs.T.P.Whent presided and Mrs. Alec Gordon was in charge of the devotional period, the members answering roll call with bible verse containing the word 'peace'. Letters of thanks were received from Mr.and Mrs. Terry ;O'Drsicoll, Rev.T.G.Husser, the Osnaburg Mission and the Prairie Christian Training School at Qu'Appelle. Superior Presbytery sent the allocation for the Schreiber group to be sent to Wayside Church, Fort William. The Board of Stewards sent thanks for the hospitality proferred visiting ministers at the time of the anniversary celebration. Rev.F.Edgar Jarvis, M.and M.Convenor for Superior Presbytery sent the annual report of the various church's collections for | this purpose and outlined the objective for the coming year. Mrs .Oscar Niemi stated a quilt was being set up and asked help to complete it. In completing plans for the Bazaar-Tea on November 20, various com- mittees were named. A donation was made to the Church Cradle Roll. Mesdames J.G.Scott, Russell Macadam, Oscar Laine, Manuel McCouan and Oscar Neimi were named 'hostesses for the December meeting. The Crowning of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a reli- gious pageant enacted in the Spring and Fall of each year by the Catholic Girls' Club took place on Sun- day evening, October 31. For the occasion the statue of Our Lady was draped in Madonna Blue chiffon with American Beauty roses caught in the folds and basket of roses placed at both sides. Rona Godin was the bride with her cousin, Patricia McGrath as flower girl -The bridesmaids were Linda Power and Linda Connelly.
