Calder and Moores battled it out in the final game with the team of Scotty Hamilton and Larry Stevens. In earlier games the Calder - team defeated the Chesley team and Scotty Hamil- ton defeated Peter Heenan to advance to the finals. In the consolation event the team of Peter Heen- an and Paul Papousek outpointed Buck Matiowsky and Greg Chesley. The tournament was sponsored by the Terrace Bay Youth Association. A disappointing number of adults turned out for the event and the participants were mainly high school stud ents. Minor Hockey Meeting Plans are underway for the coming winter hockey season. A fair turnout was on hand for the annual Minor Hockey meeting held in the Recreation Cen- tre. The new executive for the coming season is as follows:- Past President, Emil Boucher - Presi- dent, Ernie Kettle - Vice-Pres., Benny Hayes - Sec. BICYCLE RODEO The Kiwanis Club are sponsoring a bicycle rodeo on Saturday, October 2nd in the Arena. All partici- pants will be presented with safety folders, member- ship cards, reflector tape and two trophies will be awarded to the top boy and girl cyclist. This Rodeo is open to all boys and girls in Terrace Bay who have a two-wheeler bicycle. FALL COURSES Two district leadership courses will be held in Terrace Bay on October |5 - 16 - 17 at the Recrea- tion Centre. The two courses offered are ceramics and choir leadership and are sponsored by the Ter- race Bay Recreation Association and the Community Programmes Bran ch of the Department of Education. Course registrations are $7.00. The courses are open to people of Terrace Bay and surrounding communities For more particulars on the courses contact the Recreation Office. CHILDREN'S ART CLASSES Children ages 8 - II will begin classes on Wed. Sept.29th at 4p.m. in the old curling lounge. Children aged !2 - 16 will meet in the old curling lounge on Friday, October Ist at 4p.m. This group will take up elementary design and copper tooling. Both groups will feature new approaches to picture making. If sufficient interest is not shown the course will be cancelled.
