HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ELECT COUNCIL As many visitors to Terrace Bay High School noti- ced this past week, a great change had come over the school. The reason for this was the highly suc- cessful election campaign held by the nominees for Student Council. Signs and posters created a pan- orama from one end of the school to the other as our school took on the appearance of an Art Gallery for three days. At the end of the three days, the actual elections were held, and these were the suc- cessful candidates for the executive: President - Jim Mikus, Grade 11; Vice - President - George Schmiedchen, Grade 12; Secretary - Treasurer - Lynda Lawrence, Grade 12. These three people got into office partially throug suggestions and promises presented in their speeches to the student body. The defeated candidates may have lost in numeri- .cal votes but not in spirit as they put up a terrific campaign and set the pace for the successful candi- dates. "It matters not whether you win or lose, but how you play the game." ~ 1am sure that this year's Student Council will strive to the best of its ability to fulfill all promises made. | personally would like to thank the student body and staff for the wonderful support and interest shown in this campaign.
