The Teen Club has shown much initiative and are working hard in all efforts in attempting several large projects and will certainly need the patronage of the people of this community. Their scope and aims of activities has become very diversified. They are now aiming to provide and promote worthwhile activities for all ages. On September 26th they are sponsoring an Open Tennis and Horseshoe Tournament. Competition is open for men, ladies and juniors (13 years and over). The entry fee is small and championship trophies will be awarded to the winners in each event. WATCH FOR POSTERS ON THESE COMING EVENTS. LIBRARY NEWS The next regional visit of the Bookmobile to the Terrace Bay Public Library will take place Thursday, September 23rd. The Library will be closed that day. Mrs.Persson and Mrs .Boutilier have just returned from a weekend workshop held at the Regional Lib- rary headquarters. Factual information can be received on request by placing your names with the local librarian. She, in turn, will contact Regional Library and make an attempt to fill your needs. CATHOLIC WOMEN'S LEAGUE MEETS The monthly meeting of St.Martin's Council of the Catholic Women's League was held Sunday ev- ening, September |2 at 8:15 p.m., preceded by recitation of the Rosary. Very Rev.Dean E.A. Gallagher opened the meeting with the League Prayer. Mrs. M.Nicol presided and Mrs.A.Regis read the minutes of the ;last meeting. The Treasurer's report was given by Mrs.L.Legault and outstanding committees gave their reports. A report was read by the President on the eighteenth annual Provin- cial Convention held in Fort William July 6 to 8 this year. Plans are being finalized for the Fall Supper to be held September 29 in St.Martin's Parish Hall. There will be a weekend Retreat for Highschool pupils on Friday, September 24 to September 26 by Father McGannity O.M.1., followed by the Forty Hours' Devotion on Sunday evening, Sept. 26. The ladies of the Parish will take care of the luncheon for the Retreat. A cheque was presented to St.Martin's School from the Catholic Women's League to promote the Holy Childhood Society. The new counsellor of the Catholic Girls Club, Mrs.F.A.Helmink, was welcomed. Sincere.thanks were extended by the President to Mrs. H.Boudreau for her wonderful work and assistance during the past two years as counsellor to the Catholic Girls Club. Girl Guide Convenor Mrs.E.Kettle reported a need for Girl Guide and Brownie leaders from this Parish. Molly and Pat McCausland have returned to Bishop Strachan School in Toronto and Susan McCausland has also returned to Toronto after a summer spent in Terrace Bay with her parents, Dr.and Mrs .McCaus- land. Ellen Knight, Karen Moore and Marcia Jeanneret are enrolled at Alma College, St.Thomas, Ontario. Lauri Mae Marcella is home to visit with her par- ents, Mr.and Mrs.Joseph Marcella, before returning to enter her last year at the University of Windsor. She was accompanied home by Patrick and Leslie Marcella of Sarnia who will visit with their grand- parents. Don Teniuk has enrolled at Selkirk High School in Fort William this year. Chery! Moore has left for Barrie where she enters Barrie Central Collegiate this term and Michael Moore is enrolled at Northern Vocational school in Sault Ste.Marie. Eddy Kenney left for Haileybury to commence a three year course at the Provincial Institute of Min- ing. Margot Anderson is enrolled at Balmoral Hall in Winnipeg for the coming term. Mrs.Walter Ander- son accompanied her daughter to Winnipeg, then visited in Brandon, returning home with her mother, Mrs.Alice Johnston. Jane and Ron Schock of Boston are visiting with her parents, Mr.and Mrs.J.P.Heenan. Marguerite Mousseau has left for St.Adolph, Man. where she has entered St.Adolph's Academy . Susan Brooks leaves Wednesday for Kemptville, Ont where she will begin a two year course in Home Economics at the Kemptville Agricultural School . Janice Gross and Holly Berndtsson have returned to the Lakehead Teachers' College in Port Arthur for their second year. Jackie and Gordon Calder were in Fort Fr ances to attend the wedding of Gordon's nephew when their son Vincent was ringhearer. They also visited in Sioux Lookout and brought Jackie's father, Mr. St anley O'Connell back with them for a visit. Guests at the home of Virginia and Gary Galvin last week were her pa rents, Mr.and Mrs .Gordon Brown and sister Doreen of Port Arthur, enroute east where Doreen will resume studies at Queens Univer- sity. Weekend visitors with their niece were Mr.& Mrs..Art Peckett of Port Arthur.
